Our second stop at the Ferry Building was for some grilled cheese.
We went with their special of the day which was a butternut squash grilled cheese. It was phenomenal as were the pickles that came with it.
The cheese was soft and gooey with great flavor. It came with several types of cheeses on it.
Luckily they have a few seats and we were able to snag one to enjoy our sandwich.
If you love grilled cheese, this place is for you!
Perfect crisp. Great surroundings. They buttet their sourdough bread from both sides, use high quality local cheese and you can feel it in every bite. Crispy and fluffy, simple and soooo good
We were only in town for one day, but at least our cruise ship gave up plenty of time - 8a-11p. Plenty of time to explore with our San Fran friends! Fellow elite, Ms. S. is a fan of this place and introduces me to this place. It was a refreshing and easy walk from our cruise port and the perfect place to grab a breakfast sandwich.
Goat Cheese and Seasonal Jam - Simple and nice. Soft bread and bold flavors. 3/5
Cheesey Bacon Breakfast Sandwich - Amazing! Served on a longer loaf and cut in half - this thing was pretty huge. More importantly, it was absolutely dripping with gooey cheese! Add bacon and things only get better. This was definitely 5/5.
Blueberry Milk - Pretty straightforward. Blueberry flavored milk. Not overly sweet or thick, it was just right. 3/5
The grilled cheese was excellent! Definitely worth the bit of a wait as they make everything fresh. They get their bread from the Acme bread company so you know that's gonna be good. The pickles were excellent as well. Definitely try this place out if you're a grilled cheese fan!
Most delicious grilled cheese sandwich and fresh cheese available to buy in their shop. Get there early as they run out fast. Staff have a bit of attitude sadly
Always crowded, especially on weekends and holidays. But it is a great place to eat something like pasta, salad or sandwich. It offers several vegetarian options. There is not much place to sit, you have a counter with some benches.
Awesome grill cheese and tomato soup. I had it with a glass of wine and it was very yummy and perfect. Good place to grab something quick while touring San Francisco.
Our first time in the Ferry Building. We both got grilled cheese and tomato soups. Friendly staff, not a long wait for food, and we were lucky enough to snag a few seats in front so we can sit and eat. The food was great, bread was the perfect amount of crunchy but not burned. Cheese was really good.
So glad they made the raclette available M-F! The pickles are a must to cut the richness of the cheese.
If you are looking for a quick bit to eat and you are around the Ferry Building, do yourself a favor and get a sandwich from Cowgirl Creamery. The crazy artisan grilled cheese are amazing. I had the three cheese grilled cheese and it did not disappoint. I was actually very surprised how great the sandwiches are. I have walked by this places so many times in the past and thought they just sold cheese, man was I wrong. I also sampled the chocolate milk, and you can't beat the taste of all organic mike and chocolate put together in one cup. I will definitely go back here to sample the rest of the menu.
