Fantastic Food, Fast Service, Friendly Staff. It is a small place, and with one person I had to sit at the bar. With door open, took away from atmosphere.
But the food, every single piece. Had great flavor. I ordered the Plow with the pork sausage
Best was the potatoes. Well flavored.
Enjoyed a bustling Friday morning at Plow - it was worth the 25 min wait! The spot itself has a cool, relaxed aesthetic, paired with wonderful staff. The lemon ricotta pancakes were a fluffy dream, complemented perfectly by the homemade lemonade. Don’t skip on the breakfast potatoes, their crunch is unbeatable! A surprising plus: impeccably clean, heated-seat toilets! A delightful, comfortable brunch spot with scrumptious offerings.
Our first meal on our first visit to San Francisco and we brunched at Plow…absolutely loved it! Our order: The Plow, the 2 egg brekkie and a glass of Orange juice. The pork sausage patties and the Plow potatoes are the stars of the show. The quality of ingredients just shines through. Lovely customer service and I can’t recommend this place highly enough. Two thumbs up!
The food was so delicious, we got the breakfast sandwich and Plow special. It was very busy on a Friday morning. The host told us a 15min wait when we waited over 20min. There were some communication issues with the host and server. The host would lead us to a table and the server said to wait to be seated and our host would tell us when it's ready...... even though our host already showed us the table. I understand it was busy but the server had an attitude towards us when we were just doing what we were told to do.
After we were sat at the table the service got better and the food came out fast from the kitchen. The parklet we sat at was cute and on top of a wood platform.
Excellent brunch place.
We got the Hong Kong toast which was amazing with the coffee flavored condensed milk.
The fried egg sandwich was amazing
And the best part, the crispy plow potatoes are a must have
No doubt Plow is the best brunch in the entire SF area! I’ve been coming here for years and I’m so glad they’re still around and haven’t changed the menu because it’s that good.
For first timers I would recommend getting the Plow entree which comes with your choice of eggs, protein, and then their plow potatoes and lemon ricotta pancakes. The potatoes are the perfect level of crispness to pair with the meal. The lemon ricotta pancakes are to die for and round off the breakfast with a not too sugary sweet option.
They have seating indoors and out, but be warned that it can get a bit chilly outdoors if the sun is not shining. They have a few blankets to provide you but bring jackets too.
Quaint brunch cafe vibes that is easily the most popular spot in the Portrero Hill area. The line isn’t necessarily worth the wait unless you can find things to do nearby while waiting. Our group waited a little over one and a half hours and spent the time catching up at Farley’s over coffee across the street. Ricotta lemon pancakes were sweet and fluffy; they’re worth trying as are the plow potato’s for a good side dish. The host and waiter that seated and served us were really friendly, which is often not the case at these really popular food spots.
I’d like to try the chicken sandwich next time around.
Excellent food but the service can be so-so, although I tend to contribute that to how busy it gets most days. I’d recommend avoiding Plow on weekends if you can, the wait can be upwards of 2 hours. If you’re local though, coming on a weekday is the best time to avoid waiting. The food is consistently excellent, and my favorite item The Plow gives you a bit of everything. Highly recommend Plow if you can get there and take a couple hours out of your day to wait.
I heard this place can be really busy so we came first thing in the morning and were quickly sat inside without a wait. This restaurant is quaint and very picturesque, it just felt good being there. The owner actually seated us and chatted with us for a bit which I thought was nice. The service was great and you could tell everyone really wanted you to have an amazing dining experience. The food was absolutely incredible. You could taste the freshness and quality of the ingredients. Seriously everything we tried was perfect. But in my opinion, the stars of the show were the buttermilk biscuit with honey butter and the plow potatoes.
I am visiting from out of town and tried this place today. I wanted to go back for lunch lol Best breakfast food I have had in a very, very long time. As a weekly bruncher, that's saying a lot! The food is legitimately amazing. A must visit!
It is a very VERY small and tight place as an FYI so be comfortable with rubbing elbows with a stranger or two. The food is worth it!
Update: Ended up going back the next day! Couldn't resist!
