Went here 5 days in a row! Pancakes, French toast, California turkey melt - everything has been great!
Update - been here almost everyday we've been in San Diego! Super fresh, great staff, cool little cafe!
Quick to be seated, order, and get food. Staff was friendly, area was clean, omelet was delicious, covered in melted cheese, with soft chilies and mushrooms, complimented by crispy hashbrowns.
Golden Hill Cafe is a nice, small diner. Seating is limited and the space is quite small. It is very much home style from the size, decor, and even staffing. The food is good and the prices are excellent. The food is not majorly expensive but at the same time you are not getting giant portions. You are getting enough food to get yourself to full without having to worry about overindulging.
Overall I liked Golden Hill Cafe but didn't think it was anything amazing. I would probably come again but that's because it is within such close proximity to me.
Simple, good food in a retro style setting. It was definitely good, not expensive & the service from all the staff was friendly & fast! Made you feel right at home. Go here & support this business!

The food was amazing, the customer service was fantastic. The food quality, and time efficiency just made it an overall great experience. Mom & Pop shops are the way to go.
Classic diner located in Golden Hill. Had my favorite breakfast Eggs Benedict.. it was well done. Plenty of sauce, eggs were poached just right and the hashbrowns were crispy.
Ate outside and had good service.
Prices were very affordable. I'll be back for another round!
Just a great little diner in Golden Hill. The food was delicious and service quick! We had a few staple dishes and turned out to be great choices.
This is a simple, down-to-earth, no frills diner. Their menu is short and sweet. The staff is friendly and attentive. It's a bit small, but that adds to its homely charm. Prices are fair. Pictures is the tuna melt, hotcakes platter, and chilaquiles.
I tried the chilaquilas for the very first time. They were amazing! The pancakes are also very good!
