This has been my favorite part of San Diego! The Asparagus Sausage fettuccine was divine and all the flavors blended really well. The Mascarpone & Crudo was equally delicious! The crispy prosciutto bits went amazing on top of the ravioli! We signed up for a cooking class so we got to eat the pasta we made. It was such an amazing experience!

I have had a lot of Italian food but this was some of the best. Take the cooking class and enjoy the fruits of your fun labor! I will definitely be coming back. Great for a date night or just a fun evening activity! Most cooking classes everyone eats the same thing. This is not most cooking classes, everyone gets to make their own pasta and have their own flavors!

The place is extremely charming. The food is not my cup of tea, very fancy and not much of the dishes, but tasty. The service was stellar. Our server was very attentive and nice. The restaurant doesn’t has a liquor license but they will let you bring your own booze, and lucky enough there’s a liquor store right next to it. I had a great time and would comeback for a class.

Pasta making class was so much fun. We enjoyed chatting with our instructor and other people that attended the class as well. We learned a lot about pasta and also about one another. Once we finished making the pasta, they started cooking them and served us a three-course meal. Starting with the appetizer bread with ham, cheese, and green paste was tasty. The bread was warm and soft, and I enjoyed it a lot. The second course was our pasta. They came out in a hard texture, as the chef recommends. My partner liked it; I preferred soft texture. It’d be nice to have texture options for future guests. The carbonara was flavourful, and we recommend that. Spinach and Ricotta was just okay. The final course was dessert, and they were sweet and yummy. One thing that bothered me was the toilet. Maybe because the flushing isn’t good, I kept seeing other people’s stuff every time I enter. When you need to flush it, it takes 2-3 times to fully flush it through. Despite that, a little cleaner overall would be more pleasant.

My boyfriend and I have been passing by this restaurant for a while and have been wanting to give it a try. So glad we finally did. Mattarello has a vintage vibe and modern Italian flavors. We really enjoyed the staff- one of the owners greeted me by name! That was a really nice touch. The location is very clean. The food was phenomenal, flavorful, and fresh. Overall, it was such an enjoyable experience. They offer cooking classes and I would love to see what that was all about.

Mattarello Cooking is a unique little experience!! 😍 The chef was super friendly and had exciting things to talk about!! We prepared the pasta, and the chef cooked it. The food is AMAZING! I can't wait to go back and try another dish!!

Great experience making pasta. Francesco was a great host we had an excellent time. **Be aware the Airbnb price is much higher than the price you pay if you book directly from the restaurants website!!**

First time cooking class. Fun two hours. Great for a date night. Food is tasty and service friendly.

Fun to make the pasta!! Instructions were great and it’s super fun to go a couple night for date night. Pasta was a little Al dente but I probably should have told them how much I wanted it cooked before hand. Kind of expensive though. Great tiramisu

Molto bene! Homemade pastas, focaccia, meatballs and desserts. Small and cheerful space with lovely owners and staff. Meatball appetizer was delicious - moist, light and super tasty - served with lots of mozzarella and rosemary focaccia. My ravioli dish was yummy- stuffed with mascarpone and prosciutto and dressed with pesto. We were too full for dessert but the next table over wasn’t and the cake looked really nice. No liquor license so you can BYO wine without corkage. They were very happy to accommodate guests.
