Love it that Giorgio is in my neighborhood. My two favorites are the mushroom cheesesteak sandwich and the hamburgers cooked to order. The rolls are wonderful and the meat is high quality. The staff are friendly and despite the small size, I am always able to get a table. Lately I discovered their home made chicken soup. yum.

Authentic Philadelphia style cheese steak sandwiches in a low key setting in scenic Golden Hill. The steak was thinly sliced on a soft fresh bun with creamy melted cheese and caramelized onion. I added bell pepper to mine and the peppers were perfectly cooked, retaining their crispness and color. The sandwich was rounded out with a nice touch of black pepper. The sandwich was so fresh and delicious with a melt-in-your- mouth feel. Despite the ample size, it doesn't weigh you down. It really did remind me of the cheese steak sandwiches I got in Philadelphia several years ago. Very authentic. Counter service with tables indoors and out. Casual atmosphere. Lots of toppings available.
Food was great but service I'm sorry she really was clueless it was a painful experience listening to her apologize to every single customer for the 40 minutes we were there multiple times because she had not been Trained I don't think by anyone?!
And even put My cheesesteak on sliced sourdough bread I had to ask

Been wanting to try this place and it delivered. Plenty of meat and creamy white American cheese and perfectly cooked onions. Best part is they season it with some salt and pepper. Went with the regular and the works which added grilled peppers and mushrooms. Also gave the Taylor ham and cheese and try and it was a rather good grilled ham and cheese sandwich.
Been coming here for over 8 years… probably more. And I always leave smiling and satisfied. I’m basic so I get the meatball sub but they got some sandwiches here that will blow your mind.
If you’re looking for one of the best cheesesteaks in all of San Diego make an effort to visit Giorgino’s in South Park! You will not be disappointed and get cheese on your fries too if you want to be a true East coaster! Full disclosure, I am from the great city of Philadelphia and truly know my cheesesteaks. Trust me, this place is legit!
Another Golden Hill/South Park gem! I have been coming to Giorgino's for about 10 years. The sandwiches are the bomb! Love this spot! Very chill and will not break the piggy bank.
Very authentic ingredients, including Amoroso rolls and Whiz. They put less Whiz than most though, so for me it lacked some vigor in flavor. Garlic fries are ok but nothing special. If you don't like Whiz you would probably be pretty happy. They even have a selection of Tastykakes! They have a pretty large menu of sandwiches and Italian foods too.
Since I do love Whiz, I put it fourth or fifth behind West Coast Philly cheesesteaks, behind Grant's in Portland, Boo's in L.A., Calozzi's in Seattle, and maybe Philly Ya Belly in Everett, WA. 3rd for pure Philly style cheesesteaks (Boo's, Calozzi's, then Giorgino's.) Recommended.
I currently reside in Hawaii and came to San Diego for a conference. Before residing in Hawaii I lived in Philly for the longest and one of the things that's hard to get is a good cheesesteak. I did my research and found Giorgino's and I must say it felt like I was back in Philly all over again. I know it is my opinion and the rating I'm giving but let's just say the 4 cheesesteaks that I ordered on Sunday were gone by Wednesday. Yes, I flew them with me back to Hawaii. I may not be a frequent visitor to San Diego, but I promise when I come back next year for my conference I guarantee I'll be back at Giorgino's. Thank you for fulfilling my want for a great cheesesteak!! #foodie
