I’m a brit who’s been living in north San Diego for over a year now and have been craving an afternoon tea. Well I’m soooo happy I found this little gem ! My mum was over from the UK and as an early birthday treat I brought her here. Got an easy reservation mid week, great staff, good quality food, attentive, attention to detail was lovely and Jackie in the shop was also great to chat too. The food really was yummy & lots of it. Real China tea cups, small teaspoons ( which are hard to find in California I’ve discovered) and the ambience and theme surrounding us was beautiful. So much attention to detail. And the Tea Sniffing Bar was an original unique idea to smell your tea and choose it before being seated for your afternoon tea. I sampled the tea of the month too ( chocolate & strawberry) plus ordered the “Mr Darcy” tea. From fresh flowers in tea cups to sugar cubes in bowls, Alice in wonderland wall painting near the toilet & the sniffing tea station everything was truly quintessentialy British. Thank you for making my mums birthday so lovely. We are already planning our visit back as I feel it will be a real treat place for my little girl too. She is gluten free and I’ve already been informed they do a full GF afternoon tea also plus sell GF scones to take home from the shop! They’ve catered for all here at the Shakespeare Corner shoppe and Afternoon Tea.

This is a very cool English shop and tea garden. Well, it does not have a garden, but there's a very nice patio right in front. I picked up a few scones while I was here. I wanted a coffee too, but they do not offer it, just tea. The cherry and almond scones were quite good. I really like scones that come with some sort of nut and berry. These were great. The shop has a variety of imported British goods and nick knacks. I liked the variety of cookies and chocolates they offer. It's a very cool place and customer service is very friendly. Check out the cones!

First time at the Britannia Tea Rooms on Midway in Point Loma. What a unique place with atmosphere from the moment you come in the front door. The gift shop area was fun to browse in while we waited for our table. Our server explained everything clearly and in a very pleasant and professional way. The teas are wonderful and the food is delicious. So happy we went to the Shakespeare and we were redirected to the Britannia. Already looking forward to our outing there!

This is totally the place to come for UK snacks and random food items. There's also some souvenirs and other things worth picking up. Also, if you're a fan of afternoon tea, this is your spot.

Perfect cozy afternoon tea. It was all lovely! I used to go to tea when visiting family in Canada. Most of the tea places I have been to in the US are kitschy, But this one was nice and didn't feel hokey. Lots of tea choices. The food has options for vegetarians and vegans, so that was appreciated by my friend who prefers vegetarian meals.

Want a shop to get your hob nob, Cadbury chocolate, and tea fix? Here's your place. Loads of delicious English food and amenities. We have had a mother's day tea here and it was lovely. Now they have a Point Loma location for teas. The parking can be a pain, it's either free tight spots, maybe 8 spaces, or street parking and stairs. Always friend folks helping.

I wanted to try traditional afternoon tea and was not disappointed. Luckily for me, I manage to get a reservation on last minute. They offered almost sixty varieties of tea. Food was excellent and service was too. Only drawback will be too much caffeine as you enjoy the tea.

Our friends just returned from trip to Ireland. They wanted to make us a proper Irish breakfast. Luckily, this little shop sells everything they need. They were out of the bacon we needed. Most of the items came frozen. We could buy extra if needed. The shop is also filled with treats you can only find in the UK. Really cute souvenirs and gifts as well. We picked up some candy, too. They offer afternoon tea as well. I've never had a chance to do it. But I've seen bridal parties doing it. And it looks like so much fun.

Very nice shop packed full of items usually only found in the UK. Great selection of snacks, condiments, canned and jarred goods, teas and tea infusers. There is a refrigerated section of cheeses and pastries. The frozen section has an amazing selection, including Shepherd's pie, Steak & Kidney pie, bangers, puddings, and pastries. The employees are very friendly and eager to answer questions and make suggestions. The prices have increased a bit, but it is still a great shop. This trip we got a Matthew Walker Christmas pudding and a jar of Gale's Lemon Curd. Both were very good.

I absolutely love tea at Shakespeare's. The food is so good, the teas are unique, and the service is lovely. I cannot recommend this place enough. The only thing that brings down the experience is the lack of privacy from the shoppe. People walking in and out are disruptive and sometimes obnoxious.

Every single aspect of our Tea was exceptional. The food and tea were both delicious. SO many courses, arrive hungry. They are small bites but that is deceiving. We ate every single thing and were positively stuffed! The service was wonderful, the waitress was very knowledgeable and answered all our food/tea/culture questions! The shop inside is a ton of fun. We purchased more tea, some brittish snacks and candies too! They have hand pies inside. We will be sure to purchase those the next time we're in town.
