Was so fun to visit this cafe on the pier for breakfast. Beautiful little cafe, Great food and prices, and great view! Also nice little gift shop. Nice place to stop.
Can't get much farther west. Have to admit i've never stopped by for anything other than a cup of coffee, but what a great place to relax, read the paper and watch the pier fishermen try their luck.
Lobster Tacos. The lobster tacos are great! Nice flavor in the sauce.
We are travelling and are from the East Coast of Canada. If you want friendly casual good food this us a great place. We watched the sun set while listening to the surf. The food is well done and the prices are very good.
Shhhhh!. This place is wonderful. We used to live in SAN. We ate at this place every other week for 2 years. Now that I live elsewhere its a must every time we visit San Diego. We go for breakfast. We sit there and have a cup of coffee and eat a lobster omelette of a paper plate. Its amazing, Its always the best way to start a week end trip home.
Sea Lions and Nachos. I used to live in Ocean Beach (OB to the initiated) and didn't cook much because we could easily walk to 20 cheap dining establishments. Why exert effort when someone else will cook and you get to walk on the beach on your way to dinner? One of our favorites was the O.B. Pier Cafe which is the big white building at the end of the OB Pier that has giant blue lettering reading "CAFE" painted on the side. You can't miss it, as if you pass it, you'll end up in the ocean. When you order the Nachos Supreme you get a giant plate of chips smothered in a bath of processed nacho cheese sauce, and giant juicy hunks of pot roast and some tomatoes and cilantro and sour cream. It's one of the reasons I am so fat, I'd say off hand. This is not health food, nor anything resembling health food, but it sure is yummy. Once while I was eating said nachos, a sea lion swam up next to the window and watched me eat as if he wanted a chip. I love San Diego. On another note, there is one superb waitress there who has been serving us for years and she's about the friendliest person I've ever met - so if you go, ask for Heather. If you happen by at breakfast, the mango pancakes were my favorite before I became allergic to mangoes and my tongue swelled up to twice it's normal size. Now I get the regular pancakes and keep my tongue in tact.
So fun sitting over the waves. Yummy fish tacos for lunch. Love the mango pancakes or machaca for breakfast. Don't miss this local's favorite.
The seafood was tasty and the tortillas were fresh. I had wondered why they had doubled up on the tortillas, and then I realized that two tortillas were needed to hold the hefty amount of fillings and the sauce!
The first place that I visited on my trip to San Diego was this cafe. My lunch was amazing and the service was excellent. Ruth even helped me and my sister navigate our way to the bus stop so that we could get to our hotel safely. The food, service, and scenery were all amazing. I definitely recommend this cafe!!
Awesome place with great and very nice staff! Absolutely relaxing summer time vibes even during November 🤩. If you like fresh seafood or flavors tacos it is the perfect place for you. It’s the best place to experience perfect food and watch breathtaking sunset. The only thing you need to be aware is that the portions are huge 😁
Delicious food, excellent and friendly service, right on Ocean Beach pier. We love visiting when in town and look forward to next time.

Such a great little place to eat and get a view of the beach! Bf and I were celebrating our 5th year anniversary!
We both enjoyed this Cafe. Bf said eggs were bland no flavor. He didn't enjoy his breakfast that much. He did say he'd come back here with me.
I highly recommend this place especially for the ocean view!
Cute Cafe out on Ocean Beach Pier.
Food was pretty good. I had breakfast burrito and it was huge, hot sauce was really good and hit the spot.
Loved the views, each window had sweeping expansive views of the ocean. Watched the waves come in.
Great breeze out there, it will be cooler out on pier than on beach.
We shared the fish and chips and Clam Chowder bread bowl, both ended being the best we had ever had! As you can see by the picture, there are 3 pieces of fish that was hand battered before they were served on a bed of freshly cut frys! The side of coleslaw was delicious and had a little sweet taste to it. Also served with the meal was 1 lemon wedge and tarter sauce for the fish.
The Clam Chowder bread bowl was amazing! the soup is made on-site, the bread is sourdough and was fresh.... very soft to chew also topped with the right amount of cheese!
We will definitely be back!
The person behind the kitchen kindly greet. The server come she was slightly rude at first. I ordered fish and chips. The fish had thin crust, is seamed fresh. The chips I don't think it was fresh or maybe the oil they use to fry wasn't charged in a long time. But Al tasted really good. Prise really 13$! The cowl slow it was also THE BEST I HAVE TRIED! But something keep making go to the restroom, something was not fresh- I know for sure because I am sensitive and if is not fresh keep hurting my stomach. I give it 4 🌟 because of not much friendliness of the service... The view is great! I enjoy the place itself very much 😊
The restaurant is built on the pier and is well deep inside the water. It feels as if you are sitting in middle of the ocean and having your food. The view makes this place a must visit.
Otherwise the cafe is somewhat run down as it’s an old built. Also their food is not pretty great. I had Mexican omelet here. It was pretty average. Also, they serve on cardboards plates and plastic cutlery. The cardboard plate actually started to wear off, because of my food. I might have eaten some paper with beans.
Staff was pretty nice and pleasant. Thus cant give it anything less than 4 stars.
Had the clam chowder bread bowl for an early lunch and my partner had the fisherman's breakfast special. They were both very good with good portion sizes. The walk down the pier was a bit chilly but the food warmed us up and was certainly worth the walk.
FANTASTIC, HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
If you are looking for the trendy SO CAL dining experience pop culture raves about with creative cuisine this place is not for you. However, if you are looking for a GREAT tasty breakfast, for a good price, in portions that will fill you up . . . I highly recommend this place. I can't say enough about the breakfast burrito. Depending on how hungry you are you may consider splitting it with someone. As for atmosphere, to be frank, it is what some might consider a hole in the wall. From my perspective it is a family owned restaurant with casual surfer life character I enjoyed. It is at the end of a 2,000 foot pier with good coastline views. You will find locals who are fishing off the pier and at the right times of day see many surfers testing their skills. Stop by for the authentic CA experience of years gone by not for the housewife of orange county experience.
