Enticed to view the backyard seating and the menu by the gentleman out front (owner?). The ambience was lovely, the wait staff friendly but not intrusive, and the food AMAZING. Best meal I’ve had in a long time when dining out. The portion sizes seem a bit small for the prices (although most restaurants give you way too much food anyway, and I’ve seen far less food for double the price at other nice establishments), but the food definitely is worth it. We ordered an appetizer (polenta and ragu), the ravioli entrée, and two desserts: chocolate hazelnut cake and caramel something-or-other. Delicious.
We were warned ahead of time that it’s best to share each serving (we did) because food is cooked fresh to order and they don’t keep it warm but rather serve it when it’s ready. That means that your meal might come before your companion’s, or your entrée before your appetizer. Keep that in mind when ordering.
Would definitely recommend, and certainly will return.
Davanti Enoteca is by far one of the best restaurants in little Italy. We have been going there as a family for many years and are always introducing family and friends to the restaurant. Everything is great from their house special raviolis, puff pastry with cheese and honey comb , the filet, and of course the pork Ragu. That is just to name a few!!! Highly recommend going to this restaurant!!
We came for lunch. We sat outdoor patio. Nice waitress turned on outdoor heater. Outdoor music sound system great. Our food was perfect. Had meatball antipasto and I had corn salad. I highly recommend this place.
This little hole on the wall is located in San Diego's little Italy section of town. This street was hopping for a Wednesday night. We went as a group & we sat in the very back under the stars. it was pretty amazing. The atmosphere is vibrant and being there was no roof it was a very different experience. Our server was very friendly & accommodating. She suggested the Focaccia Di Recco which was absolutely amazing! My entree was the Rigatoni Alla Vodka with grilled chicken. So tasty! The pasta was a wee bit too al dante for me. However, there was ample sauce, the chicken was grilled just right and the portion size left you satisfied. For desert we tried the Goat Cheesecake and WOW! that was so delicious... I recommend sharing it as it does become very rich very quickly. But the smooth creamy goat cheese makes that dessert stand out! This is a great little place to go if you have time on your hands. The food takes a while and comes out one dish at a time as they are ready in the kitchen. The server did warn us about that... so your table could all be eating at slightly different times. Overall, this place was pretty fantastic. Good location, great food & nice atmosphere.
My favorite restaurant in San Diego by far. The overall aesthetic of the restaurant was very pleasing. The antiques that they incorporated into the overall experience was a very unique touch. I find it ironic that they were playing music from artists such as Weezer, nirvana- they played 3 red hot chili pepper songs. You'd expect a restaurant of this quality to play jazz and whatnot. I'm not complaining though- it certainly added to my experience. Our server was very friendly. Everything came out in a quick fashion. The food was incredible. There is truly no way to put it into words. If you're in little Italy, this is a wonderful spot to grab a quick bite and chat.

I wish I had gotten more pictures of the food, but it all looked so delicious that we dug in before photo ops! Highly recommend eating here for brunch, the menu is super fun and creative. The build-your-own Bloody Mary and Mimosa bar have tons of options, so you'll never get bored.
Nice place for a family meal. We came with 12 guests and the server did a great job attending to such a large group. The food was pretty good. I
Didn’t think the food was memorable, but also nothing to really complain about. Everyone seemed pleased but I don’t think anyone will go home and tell their friends “you gotta try Davanti”.
No easy parking and no valet service. It’s a popular area, so just find a garage and fork out the coin. If you find nearby street parking, you should also buy a lottery ticket!
I ate here with a large group of 8, and we were immediately seated. Our server was very nice and quick to help. We ordered foccaccia for the table and it was delicious! I ordered the rigatoni with chicken, and it was very flavorful.
This place is amazing! We ordered bruschetta, meatballs, zucchini pizza and cacio e pepe from the happy hours menu and all of them were perfect! With cozy outdoor seating and friendly staff you should try here!
Outstanding food and service. Definitely going back to try other dishes.
Sat down for the happy hour specials. Great deal and really good food. Service was pleasant and cheerful but really quite slow. The Cacio é Pepe was VERY good, as were the artichokes. The meatballs were okay but the tomato sauce they were served in was simple but excellent. The outdoor patio was also very nice as we watched the people pass by.
Went to check out a new place for lunch, and was very impressed with the quality of their service. They had a great selection for the lunchtime specials, with great prices, and a variety of delicacies to choose from. It was not too crowded and had plenty of space for big groups or smaller gatherings. The restaurant was clean and the service was friendly.
