First time visitor. Friendly person greeted us and explained how everything worked. Our treats came to us beautifully garnished. The taste and texture of the cakes were flawless!!! Wear knit when you go so your clothes won't stop you from eating your way through the dessert showcase!

Warm, friendly atmosphere. Staff is charming. Desserts are absolutely delicious, extremely varied, and super fresh. It's pricey, but it's totally worth it.

You don’t know how much I love good, no, make that love AMAZING desserts. These are beautiful AND delicious. The flavors are rich. I was standing in line when a local got in line behind me. Margaret from DC, who was formerly a teacher, told me the birthday cookie is delicious and she didn’t lie. I also got the coconut cream pie and Shang-ri La, and the short bread cookies. I eat with my eyes too. Anyways, I forgot to order the carrot cake and with less than 6 hours left in this city, I am sitting in front of the store waiting for it to order so I can order the carrot cake. A traveler who is stopping by for a second time before hopping on a plane to go home should tell you that you need to come here.

After almost four long years since my last visit, I was overjoyed to find Extraordinary Desserts still thriving as the go-to spot for delectable treats in San Diego. As someone who doesn't typically indulge in sweets, this place holds a special place in my heart, and I rarely find myself yearning to visit a dessert shop. But Extraordinary Desserts is an exception, and my recent visit only reinforced why it remains a favorite among locals and visitors alike. Located on Union Street, this dessert haven exudes charm and elegance, offering a warm and inviting atmosphere that instantly sets the stage for a delightful dessert experience. Despite the changes due to the pandemic, the restaurant has adapted well with a new ordering system where you queue up to place your order and then find a comfortable spot to sit. This setup actually adds a sense of leisure and coziness to the overall ambiance, allowing customers to take their time savoring their chosen treats. Speaking of treats, let's delve into some of the most beloved flavors that have won my heart as well. The Blood Orange Ricotta, with its tangy twist and creamy texture, is an absolute delight. The Torta Misu, a tantalizing take on the classic tiramisu, is a heavenly indulgence that never fails to impress. For fans of timeless pies, the Banana Cream Pie with its velvety banana goodness is a must-try. And let's not forget the Lemon Bars, which boast a delightful balance of sweetness and zesty freshness that leaves a lasting impression. To make the experience even better, I highly recommend pairing these delectable delights with the in-house coffee. The robust coffee flavors enhance the sweetness of the desserts, creating a harmonious blend that elevates the overall taste.

This place was really cool but a bit over the top. Everything was a little too extra for my taste and wasn’t a huge fan of the items we got. If I were to come back I’d definitely try one of their drinks next time. Everything was very visually appealing and loved that it’s a quick walk up counter service place.
