Back Unturned is one of the best breweries I’ve been to recently. We started with the focaccia (get this!) and it’s so delicious! We also enjoyed some hoppy beers and absolutely delicious pizzas! Everything was so good. The staff was attentive. Its a winner.
this joint makes pizza 🍕 so good even The Ninja Turtles would say “COWABUNGA DUDE!!” Dough and sauce made FRESH daily, in-house brewed craft beer to wet your whistle all served by a super down to earth staff, cool vibes AND right alongside the beautiful San Antonio River…sure glad my man Ricardo (owner) never turned his back on his dream…BACK UNTURNED is doing the damn thang!
Out of all the breweries I visited in San Antonio this one was my favorite. A lot of it has to do with personal preference. It’s on the smaller/quieter side. The beers are good and so is the food. The staff is super friendly. As I was closing my tab my waiter brought me over a taste of their collab with Breakaway.
They have a beer for life club that I confirmed with the bartender was $1000. If I lived in San Antonio I would definitely be a member. I didn’t want to try to drink $1000 worth of beer in less than 3 weeks.
I got drafts of Kokúa and Punk’n PI-PA and cans of Rio de Leche and Constitutional Kolsch. They were all good. I ate a care salad with chicken which was also good. I probably could have eaten the family size which I think was $4 more.
Definitely check it out if you want a chill spot to drink good beer. It’s also really close to Idke and Roadmap.
Cute place, great beer! Lots of different options. We love sour and ciders mostly, and they had on each of those, but their other beers were excellent. Happy hour and $2 off beers after 9 was an excellent deal. Small food menu, but we had Caprese salad and it was excellent. Bathrooms were clean. Service was good and they kept ice water cups full! Will be back when visiting. Thanks!
This place was great! Seriously the best pizza you’ll find in the area and the service was great! Sean, Jeremy and Andy really made me feel at home. I’ll be back for sure with all my homies next time. 💯
Good selection of beer, plays good background music, they serve brunch on weekends, but we only had the flatbread. Saw the other food coming out and I'm going to go back to try more items. When boyfriend picked this place I wasn't super excited and didn't believe his promises it was great. I don't drink and typically brewery places focus more on the brews than the food, but he enjoys a good drink so off we went. I was instantly shut up by just the brussel sprouts - they were lick the plate good. We ordered a split of different flavor wings and the twice baked style really shined. Oh, and if you love ranch, their ranch will make you taste buds sing. We then ordered our own pizzas and my picky self was THRILLED there were so many white sauce options (I know, not liking red sauce is a sin). The server is super friendly, pays close attention to needs, and the atmosphere is fun without being obnoxious. We'll be returning for sure!
First! The food! Pizza and wings were amazing! Now the beer… great tasting craft beers. The server was very attentive and friendly. This was a great pit stop on our brewery walking self guided tour. :-)
Amazing. Amazing. If your looking for a dark beer that is has been made by the gods you have to try their Coconut Chocolate Porter. It is just perfection in a glass. Everything there to eat is amazing. I would definitely get their pretzel twits, pizza, Balsamic strawberry salad......EVERYTHING! I was not impresses Caprese due to the flavorless tomatoes but the mozzarella was heavenly.
Beer 10/10, Pizza is 9/10 🔥. Staff was friendly, just not attentive to the tables. Other than that I would recommend this place, great place to enjoy great beer and outstanding pizza.
