Time Travel Is Possible!. Set the WABAC machine for arrival at this place - it has been around from the 50's or earlier as I remember the local chain from my childhood here. I remember the burgers as a kid which were always served with a serrano pepper on the side in a small paper triangle bag - the kind that french fries used to be served in. Of course I never ate the incendiary offering back then, but found it a nice way to kick-up the hamburger flavor now. The inside of the place is smallish with no more than 10 tables and can be a little hot at times.
The menu is as busy as it can be and packed full of what you come to a place like this for. Fish is a big item here with many different sized plates and usually seems to be on the specials posting. . . very popular. They also have the usual hamburger, cheeseburger, bacon burger along with hot dogs, crispy dogs, jalapeno poppers, shakes, snow cones and the list goes on.
If you are over visiting Mission Concepcion and wanting to experience a bit of south san antonio nostalgia, visit this wonderful relic from the past that still serves up a decent little burger and fish sandwich.
Fried Fish is Good. The fried fish is excellent here. The finished produce was not greasy and the portions were substantial. It will take a bit between ordering and getting your food because they actually don't cook it until you order it. I don't think they would every place their fried fish under hot lights.
The place isn't anything to look at but get over it and go inside and order the fish. Good Stuff.
The have great seafood items like fish platter and fish burger. It's awesome! It's a little pricey but it's because they use expensive cooking oil. I think it's worth it. The fish is not greasy.I would recommend this great place to anyone just to try it once. I'm hooked. I'm going to stop by today.
Gyros has the absolute best jumbo shrimp basket. Five jumbo shrimp, fries, cocktail sauce & tarter sauce and last of all a whole jabanero pepper. It's great.
I'm always driving by this place during basketball season on my way to mission conception sports complex and it's ALWAYS lined up with cars...now I know why! Great tasting old-fashioned diner type burgers, onion rings and fries. As with most places where their fries and onion rings are delicious, they also offer fried fish and corn dogs which seemed pretty popular from other orders I saw walking out the door. Great friendly service from the hardworking women running the counter and window. There's a medium-sized dining room if you're not picking up thru the window. The onion rings had a thick crunchy batter on them, and the burger was juicy and fresh! My only complaint was that the fríes didn't seem as fresh as the rings or burger. Still, I'd like to come back and give them and some of the other delicious favorites a try!
The best fish burger EVER. This Restaurant has been here for Decades❤️They even have a Drive-Thru. It’s by one of The Missions and its real close to the San Antonio new River development walk alone the River🫶❤️

It's always clean, food is always good, service is great.
Never had a bad experience in my life. The wait time is always reasonable. Employees are also welcoming to my experience
40+ years sad to see it is up for sale. Hopefully it will stay the same
And food don't change I know many people would be sad. They also serve ice cream, banana splits, if I remember correctly.
This is a popular place with local people. It's kind of a hidden gem. Large portions of good food made to order at low prices. Is the fish sandwich and fries were insanely good.
This place is not fancy and It is very casual.
My family has been visiting Gyro's for over 30 years!
The place is clean and the employees are nice!
We've tried just about everything on the menu over the years and we haven't been disappointed.
The family meals available helped us to feed everyone when we were younger and money was tight. The fries are delicious and the portions are generous, plus you're able select bread with the family meal, so you're able to make sandwiches right away.
We'll keep coming back!
Walked in during lunch time, and the staff was extremely nice. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger combo,was very delicious.planning on ordering that giant fish burger next time!
We travel about 12 miles just to get their fish sandwich. Best in town! Friendly service and pleasant atmosphere. Try the fish and the chicken sandwiches!!!

Just wanted to say Gyros has those good old fashion Banana Splits for sale again!
First time trying this out. The fish was great! Very small, cozy, hole in the wall atmosphere. Everything was priced moderately. They even have a drive thru if you don't want to get out of your car. I will be coming back soon!
Best fish ever!! Shrimp plate also a plus!! Its a bit pricey but always worth it. Been coming here since I was a kid. There tarter sauce has the perfect taste to compliment the food. I'll keep coming back as long as they stay open. Rip Blue
