Just as family remembered 30 years ago! Puffy tacos were tasty and not greasy at all, not as puffy today and more like folded gorditas. Bean rolls filled generously as always, they were greasy. Big turn off was the flies everywhere. Couldn't get away from them. Can't imagine how bad they are in summer.
I’ve been searching for the best Gordita in San Antonio and you would be hard pressed to find a better one. My Gordita was not dripping in grease and it held up well while eating. The flavors were fresh and flavorful. If I could have eaten more I would have. Definitely delicious!!!
Lala’s is one of the most authentic San Antonio taco and Gordita shops, bar none! The Puffy Tacos are smack-yo-Gramma good! The Gordo Gordita lives up to the namesake billing. Smooth creama and guacamole. You want to put the cabbage on, trust a fat boy!
If you remember Taco Hut, then Lala's Gorditas is the place for you! I grew up on Taco Hut and it is a core childhood Food memory. The food here is excellent and the service was very good. They have some covered seating but it is all outdoors. Parking is a premium, so you might have to park down the side street and walk, but that's OK it's worth it!
Lala’s is hands down our favorite spot in San Antonio!!! The food is some of the best you’ll ever have & the owner is soo nice!! We recommend Lala’s to everyone we know that wants good home cooked Mexican food❤️
Delicious gorditas! Just like everyone said they are. Soft with some crispness on the outside of the gordita with little grease. Very flavorful chicken and beef. More of a shredded chicken and ground beef. Nice outdoor seating with plenty of seating and umbrellas. Friendly customer service.

Everything tested just like I remember. Definitely served up some nostalgia today. I would come here with my family back in the early 90s. Things were a little less expensive back then but the food is priced accurately in today's times. I ordered the special which consisted of 2 puffy tacos, 1 bean roll, 1 guacamole cup, 1 ice tea for $8/$9.99 (I can't remember) I will definitely be going back again!
I was road tripping around Texas and was looking for some fantastic Tex Mex food. I saw this restaurant and it did not disappoint, in fact I’d say it’s the best Tex mex location in San Antonio, maybe even Texas. I had 4 puffy tacos, 3 beef and one chicken, and the taste was just indescribable, if I had to describe it I could only use the word perfect. Aside from the food the atmosphere felt authentic and had beautiful decorations. The service was probably the best part, one of the cooks was incredibly nice and even invited my family and I inside the kitchen to take a tour. He told us all about the family history of the restaurant and explained the process of making the corn tortillas and how they ‘puff’ them. I’d give this place six stars if I could.
The food here is amazing, and the service matches! You can taste the quality and freshness of each dish. Perfectly catches the essence of San Antonio. Will recommend this place to everyone I know!
I LOVE it here! The staff is great. Steve, the owner, is incredibly nice and so welcoming. The food taste DELICIOUS every time. His masa is the best in town. My favorite item on the menu is the Cheese Enchiladas! Check this local spot out! 👍🏼
