Lunched real quick and server Frankie was awesome!Mr. Bill talked to me for a future event and he was so attentive. They hold graduations, wedding, business parties, and they are flexible and not outrageous like other places with deposits and menus and all the shannanigans. Food was great and I love the customer service!!
Food was delicious and huge portions! Service was iffy. New waiter? Never got our margaritas. Enchiladas were excellent as was the tamale and chili with huge chunks of tender meat.
Went on a date night, and our server was very attentive, which made our date even better. We ordered a Chile Relleno and one of their house meals, and they did not disappoint.
Great experience!! I was waiting at the bar for the rest of my party and saw McGuire waiting on tables. He then came behind the bar, greeted me and took my drink order. So, not only was he waiting tables, but he was also the bartender! I thought he was extremely pleasant while also providing excellent service to La Fonda patrons. What stood out to me was his attention to detail. What I mean is, each time he grabbed a glass to make a drink, he brought it close to his face and meticulously inspected it! He took his time and turned each glass a full turn before he used it. This tells me he wanted to make sure the glass was spotless and had no cracks. Regardless, of what McGuire looks for, the attention to detail is admirable and an asset to La Fonda. Customers like me us are the lucky recipients of his high standards!
Our waiter Arthur was the most gracious & hospitable server we could have asked for! He gave us recommendations on the food & great advice for sight seeing while we were visiting. We will definitely come back soon!
LOUIE my waiter was The Best! I appreciated his demeanor & attentive professionalism. My Shrimp Tacos were super fabulous.
Overall pretty good place. Server could have been more attentive. Wrong drink, then no refills. Asked for no corn in my meal and still received a full portion of corn all over my meal…boo.
Omg Rene and Tori ROCK !! Great place, food and drinks! These 2 ladies are amazing! From daily dining, company dining and birthdays they work like a fine tune orchestra. Greeting you by your name, knowing your order and making your drink the minute they see you walk in are the best qualities this place has. You can't ask for anything else with these two peas in a pod! They make quality service look so easy yet its so hard to find! Not here because it comes natural to this wonderful staff here at La Fonda ! Live it and keep up the great work!! 🍸🍸
To add Mr Bill going greeting everyone by name and remembering every story. And the amazing Angelica with her smile, and managers and cooks makes this place just an amazing place you can't stay away from..
Also introducing their new Pink Flamingo drinks during these hot days are delicious. Very refreshing and thirst quenching...can't just have one!
New to San Antonio and still in exploration mode to find restaurants to be our regulars. After visiting a dive on the riverwalk last week for Taco Tuesday, we moved "inland" and found La Fonda. Location felt odd next to the airport, but it wasn't bad. Clean looking inside with friendly staff. Chips and salsa was literally the bottom of the bag of chips with crumps. Got two tacos (wife chicken, me beef) with beans and rice. Both left a puddle of oil on the plate. Beans and rice were OK.
We went here today. We were greeted by AJ. And he was unbelievable! He waited on us immediately. He was so attentive and fun ! We did not have to ask for a thing he was on top of what ever we needed. Best server o have had in a long long time!! He is the best. Please let him know what at great job he did. We were a group of 5 older ladies. We all loved him!!
