Torta & Pozole. When i went I had the Pozole and the Torta Pierna and they were both great. The broth for the soup was so tasty it was fantastic.
Pierna on corn with cilantro & onions... Unbelievable.
Home cooking. A Spanish language TV channel plays on a wall-mounted TV and the former fast food joint is crowded with lunchtime diners. It's crowded for a reason -- good food at extremely reasonable prices. #2 dinner is especially good -- 3 beef fajita tacos with rice, beans, sliced avocados for about $7! Didn't like the salsa that comes with the chips -- no flavor and no heat. But flavorful green salsa comes in a squeeze bottle with your meal.
Great Place!!!. This place is fantastic - and there appear to be a few of them. the nachos are FANTASTIC. quite often when i pick my son up from school we drive directly to the old 'waterburger' location and order the nachos with fajita meat & guacamole...excellent!!! the breakfast tacos are huge and delicious. extremely easy on the wallet. service is friendly and fast.
Finally found what ive been looking for.. Now this is what mexican food is supposed to be like. The food here is rich in flavor, fresh flour and corn tortillas and the prices are kind to the wallet. Ive dined at some.... (of what san antonians think the best mexican restaurants)...only to be extremly dissapointed. If you like the food from so called mexican restaurants like La Fonda or Tomatillos you LOVE this place....I PROMISE. Check it out Right behind the Sunharvest on Nacodoches. You will really flip when you get the bill too, you'll ask the server if the amount is correct. They also serve beer. What more can you ask for Good food for a Good price, theyve got me coming back for more....
Last time I visited this place 30 years ago, it was one of the older Whataburger’s where they made great burgers back then. Not much has changed on the inside, but the food certainly has. Now it’s a Taqueria Vallarta which serves great Mexican food. Service was excellent and exactly what you’d always want from any restaurant you visit. If you haven’t visited, make a point to do so.
No complaints here the tacos were awesome . And my wife had a torta. The food was delicious 😋
My favorite place in town. It used to be a burger joint so the building looks funny shaped but their food is delicious and fairly priced. Sunday mornings are busiest and they are open only til 2 pm
It's ok for a quick bite. For the area it's very affordable. My carne Asada was way too well done for me; it seemed like all the crispy pieces from the bottom of pan. The cashier kindly removed the charge per my request.
Just landed in San Antonio was hungry, this place came up. Order a few tacos ,talk about tacos being so huge. Just be aware they serve a lot of food for the money. You will not be disappointed. Prices are very affordable, food very delicious. Love there sweet tea. Staff very friendly. Thank you for great food and superb service. Stay hungry my friends.
Great food, friendly attentive people. Great lemonade
Love love love the barbacoa never greasy and plenty of meat. The breakfast tacos are reasonably priced but after 10 am they are a little more. Maybe 30 cents more but still a good deal. Homemade chips and salsa complement and complete the meal. Be sure to order the lemonade or tamarindo drinks
It's always my go to place for good at good price. Servers are nice and respectful always coming to check if you're having a good time .
Michaela gave us such great service and we will even ask for her the next time we go. She gave me suggestions for some drinks and it was delicious. Y'all picked a good one there. Get another 10 of her and it'll run on auto pilot.
First time here and the food was good. I had the shrimp tacos. We will be back.
