The food and atmosphere are what I have come to expect. It was quick enough, good flavor, served hot, and came with plenty of those biscuits we've come to expect.
We had a party of 20, so it was impressive that the server and back of the house team achieved the aforementioned expectations, and all this was delivered with a smile.
Our server was amazing and handled the group with only occasional help from a trainee.
I had fish and chips that were not only reasonably priced but had an amazing flavor. With the inflation we all are experiencing, this might become my favorite fish and chips place in San Antonio - especially at around $13 for the plate.
Good food, mixed on service. The cheddar biscuits were so fresh and hot, but other aspects of service were rubbish. The hostess felt it was more important to change a trash bag, than to greet and seat multiple guests. The hosts also have to clean and prep tables and then, seat guests. That means tables are not the best and guests are taken care of second. Our table so sticky that a menu, left on our table, actually bonded and stuck solid. The menu tore as it stuck solid to the table. After cheddar rolls delivered our dinner took over 40 minutes to be delivered. The two bar beverages (see empty bar below) took almost 15 minutes after order was placed. Holden, or server was great, managing things out of his control. Fortunately, the meals were hot and fresh when they finally arrived. I managed to try 5 different shrimp preparations for my endless shrimp and my Momma’s special made Lobster Mac was perfect. So a mixed bag. I like local rather than National chains, so likely it will be a while before a return visit.
The server Kimberley was awesome with her service! The food was amazing!
Good experience overall. I was forgotten at the beginning for a bit and again at the end while waiting on my check. Otherwise, the service was decent. No management in sight during my nearly 2 hour visit. Perhaps they were just short staffed. My only complaint about the atmosphere was the deteriorating condition of our seating area. (Damage to booth/ tables) Attention to those details would go a long way in improving the quality of our experience. The food was freshly made and plated wonderfully. The overall cleanliness was on point.
Super filling meal, wonderful staff, great food. Highly recommend this restaurant
The cheesy biscuits are always great. The Flounder was cooked perfectly. The Cod batter to fish ratio was perfect. Although, on the same note, the Cod was under-seasoned. The French fries were nice and crisp. The salad had the right amount of dressing. It was not overly dressed, like some other places. Likewise, the coleslaw was dressed well. The atmosphere was pleasant. The booths were clean and the music was not drowning out conversation at the table. The service was good. Overall, a good dining experience.
Me and my boys loved it. Our waiter was the best. Thank you.
Great food, service and atmosphere - especially for the price. The only major issue was the lack of a host. It was at least ten minutes, if not more, before we could flag someone down. Someone finally did come to greet us and sit us at a table. Not very welcoming but for the price / value it will do.
We were served a fresh and hot meal! Though they no longer serve a small salad, everything was delicious and our waitress was exceptional! We will return to this location despite one being closer.
Surprisly good! I had been to one last year over on the south side and was greatly disappointed, yet I was willing to give it another try. Totally different experience at the one by La Cantera. Food was well prepared and the service excellent.
