We hadn’t been in a while and went for Sunday brunch and blues on March 4, 2018 I was happy to see the place completely full, inside and out. Had never seen that before. Service was great, friendly and outgoing, in all fairness it was a little slow but my guess is they maybe weren’t expecting such a large crowd. The staff was working so hard. Didn’t matter to us we were there for a lazy Sunday. The food was first rate. Going back soon.
Great food, and great atmosphere! The staff were all very friendly & accommodating! My burger was fantastic, my husband had the chicken fried steak, my 10 year old inhaled the Pot Roast special, and my 6 year old loved the corndog bites off the kids menu! And we ended it with a delicious dessert! Great family friendly, dog friendly place. We will definitely be back!!
The food was pretty good, but not amazing. The atmosphere is SO cute though! Outdoor eating with lots of space, a space for kids to run around, and a stage. I wish we could have dinner with the live music there! Great place to stop and eat!
This was our second visit. We really enjoyed ourselves!! The food is really good and so are the drinks. We ordered a burger and a pulled pork sandwich, and the kids had the kids meal cheeseburger. The music was a little loud for our dog, but we managed. We live out of town so we couldn't leave her home. The only thing my husband mentioned was that the pulled pork sandwich would have been better with a sweet BBQ sauce. The onion rings were so good!! We will definitely be back!
After a long morning outside under the 105 degree temperature , we needed a drink and something to eat. We found Spechts and weren’t sure what to expect. Well, the food was actually very good and they had a nice selection of drinks to cool us down. The Burger, chicken avocado sandwich, onion rings, and salads were tasty. Ask about The story behind this location that dates back over 100 years !
The bacon cheese burger was very good, the gravy on the chicken was needing some seasoning, the Mac and Cheese didn’t have much flavor, the brisket fries were decent, and the pull pork sandwich was pretty good. They have a nice outside area out back cows, chickens, etc.
Delicious brisket fries, pulled pork nachos, and chocolate cake! Large portions. Indoor and outdoor seating. Lots of parking across the street. Will definitely visit again.
A great place to have dinner and listen to live music. Food is great. Atmosphere is nice. Walk around and see the old gas pumps and the cows in the pasture out back. Kids can run and play. Good place for all ages.
First time visiting, WOW! what a great place to go and have good food and fun. The staff was outstanding and the food was awesome! The venue has a great Texas history and is really good to see it being saved. I highly recommend this place for family fun and get togethers. Keep Texas strong visit Spechts.
I've been here twice and both times were wonderful experiences. First time, with my younger son's soccer team. We showed up unannounced and were very well cared for. Second time, with my older son's soccer team. A reservation was made this time and we showed up with quite a large group. The food was prepared quickly, the staff was very attentive and the live music was an unexpected element which added to the already enjoyable atmosphere. We will definitely be back!
Heard nothing but great things about Spechts from locals. Finally got to visit for lunch. The food was delicious and the service was great! Loved the location and outside area. We plan to visit again soon during the weekend when they have live music.
Wonderful Live music, outdoor seating, rustic Texas feel and great food, wonderful staff and service! What more can you ask for? I shared videos below of their music to check out. This hidden gem is conveniently located in the country just north of San Antonio. It would also be a wonderful place to have a small birthday party as several customers do there. We had a great time! Highly recommend.
