This is one of San Antonio's best burger joints all around! This is where you come for the food and stay for the views. We have been dining here since 2010, on different occasions. The cleanliness, food quality, fantastical country decor and delicious tasting burgers are always excellent.
The Big Juicy is one of our favorites and the Chicken Fried Steak. However you must have a double bacon Cheeseburger with everything, if you want to appreciate their flavors. Their Onion Rings are very, very good and the Fries are good as well. Everyone can dine inside or on the patio and enjoy the magnificent views. You all will not be disappointed when you stay and eat there. Go ahead and try them!
Easy going atmosphere and great food! Ordering is very easy and the cashier was very polite. We came during a somewhat busy Saturday afternoon and we received our food fairly quickly. We ordered chili cheese fries, hot wings, and guacamole burger, both of which were delicious! Highly recommend!
We don't eat here often but when we do....it's such a treat. The best fried mushrooms and ranch, jalapeno burger is huge...and my guy husband loves to get the Mushroom Swiss Burger. Yummy. Our son loves the classic creamy Mac and cheese.
The environment was very warm and welcoming when we entered. The staff was friendly, the food prices are about the medium range so it's not too expensive to have a dinner there with a family. I had the Double cheeseburger and it was super tasty and filling. All in All it was a very good dining experience!
We ordered takeout from The Longhorn Cafe this past weekend. The burgers were great and the tater tots were delicious and super crispy but the onion rings were awful! They were glorified onion strings. So thin and not crispy at all. It tasted like they were sitting in the oil for a while. I definitely would not recommend getting them.
The food is always consistently good. Always. Great, laid back, family-friendly atmosphere.
The only thing that would make it better is serving the impossible burger on a lettuce bun! 😊👍
Good family place for a good, old fashioned grilled hamburger. The sides were great and my husband had a nice milkshake at the end of the meal. Prices were reasonable. Went during the pandemic and everything was clean and tables were distant from each other. I saw lots of to-go-orders being delivered to cars. I would come again.
Been quite a while since our last visit. Had a craving for chicken fried steak and we were NOT disappointed!! Tender and flavorful with mashed potatoes like your Mama used to make. Ok, like MY Mama use to make! 😁 Very enjoyable experience. 5 stars for the quality and service. Gonna have to remember this one. Thanks, Longhorn Cafe!!
I like the food and I usually have OK experiences here. I don't mind the casual atmosphere, and it's nice not having to tip waters. I especially like the chicken fried chicken meal. That said, the staff could use better training (and common sense).
I came in and ordered a sandwich and asked for a meal. The girl at the register said she was new and couldn't figure out how to ring it up as a meal and asked if I still wanted the onion rings and drink. I interpreted that as "do you want to pay separately/more for them because I don't know what I'm doing". Meanwhile about 7 other employees were wandering around behind her, I guess asking someone with more experience didn't come to mind. I didn't want to make a big deal so I just ordered something else. The more I thought about it, the more it annoyed me.
Still giving 4 stars because I usually enjoy eating there, but I hope the service improves.
