We had our company Christmas gathering there and from the time we walked in till we left it was a great experience. Service throughout the meal was spot on. All of the food was great and recommended, hush puppies, stuffed mushrooms, Beef tenderloin and the awesome white chocolate luxardo cheese cake. I can’t wait to come back and try other things on with me. Keep up the great work and the awesome food coming from the kitchen. I highly recommend the general public

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The General Public for brunch, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. From the moment I walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere set the stage for a memorable meal. One of the highlights of my visit was the fresh French pressed coffee served in a warmed cup. The aroma alone was enough to awaken my senses, and the smooth, rich taste was simply delightful. The server paid attention to every detail, even down to the temperature of the cup, ensuring that my coffee stayed warm throughout the meal. The chicken entree I ordered was a true masterpiece. The chicken was brined to perfection, resulting in a juicy and flavorful interior. The crispy outer layer added a delightful crunch and texture to each bite. Paired with a generous portion of fries, it was a match made in culinary heaven. The fries were perfectly seasoned and cooked to a golden perfection, making them an irresistible accompaniment to the chicken. But it didn't stop there. The kitchen showcased their creativity with their yucca fries and roasted cauliflower. The yucca fries were a delightful twist on the traditional fries, offering a unique and satisfying taste. The roasted cauliflower, with its crispy edges and tender center, was a delightful surprise that added a burst of flavor to the meal. To top it all off, they offered dollar mimosas during brunch! This added touch of affordability and indulgence made the experience even more enjoyable. Sipping on a refreshing mimosa while savoring the delectable food made for a truly blissful brunch experience. Overall, The General Public exceeded my expectations in every way. From the impeccable service to the thoughtfully crafted dishes, it is clear that they have a deep passion for providing their customers with an exceptional dining experience. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an unforgettable brunch experience that combines quality and creativity. Can’t wait to go back!

Server recommended the Fish and Chips and she wasn't wrong. The fish was crispy and perfectly cooked. The chips were better than expected (fresh cut fries can be very hit or miss). There were only 5 patrons total, which was surprising since it was 12:30ish. Lunch specials are a great value. The menu had several options that interested me, I will not hesitate to visit again.

Delicious happy hour! Great prices and a limited food selection. Staff seemed distracted yet were pleasant. Yes, we will be back for happy hour when in the area. Thought we could order from the menu then found out we needed to order only from happy hour menu. Worked out! Beef Sliders were tasty. The General Public is tucked in Rim Shopping Center and worth going. Parking is limited. Busy area.

Dad had an appointment in the Eilan Hotel area so we decided to check out happy hour @thegenpublic. 4pm means $4 drinks and bites, then 5pm means $5 drinks and bites. Dad was happy to be back drinking Lemonade. My husband and I had the Tropical Spritz. We shared the HH Slider Duo. Cooked perfectly! Made me want another one but we already ordered more food. Kung Pao Lettuce Wrap, Empanadas, Green Chile Grilled Cheese, and Fish and Chips. Fish and Chips were awesome! The beef picadillo in the empanada was good. Just slightly greasy. I was too full to try the grilled cheese but did bring leftovers home. Abigail took good care of us!

4.5 stars. This is a trendy pub/restaurant located in La Cantera. I am surprised that I have never been here before. We tried it during restaurant week, and they have a pretty extensive menu. We ordered off the menu and with the restaurant week menu because we wanted to taste a lot of dishes. The only thing we did not care for was the stuffed mushrooms. They were filled with cream cheese, which was weird. We really liked the chicken meatballs (Korean bbq), spinach and artichoke dip, hot fried chicken (it wasn't spicy though) and the kung pao lettuce wraps. For our entrees, we had the beef tenderloin with fries, I had the salmon with Asian slaw, and there was an order of fish and chips. I also had a Brownie parfeit that was good and not too swwet. The portions are a good size, and the prices are reasonable. We really enjoyed the staff, the atmosphere, and the food.

Not very busy for a Sunday which caught me by surprise but I did arrive right at 11. Quick to get seated and servers were ok. The presentation of the food is nice. Small portion for French toast for almost $13. But it was GOOD Pitcher of Sangria was great and Arugula and avocado toast was probably my favorite. Laid back environment and definitely will be back.

If there were a sixth star to give, Caleb would absolutely deserve it. Visiting a bar isn’t just about the drink you have; it’s about the atmosphere, the experience, and most of all, the people who make it special. Caleb manages to embody all of these aspects, making every visit a memorable one. Caleb offers much more than just a well-crafted drink. His attention to detail extends to his customers as well. He has this uncanny ability to remember not just names but also faces, favorite drinks, and even snippets of past conversations. You aren’t just a customer to Caleb; you're part of the evening’s tapestry that he weaves with effortless charm and skill.

First time visit. Seated promptly but wait for order a little long. Server was apologetic and attentive to our table. The entrees and mock tail was delicious. Great food quality and presentation. Portion size was generous as well. Would recommend to others.
