We have finally found our favorite seafood restaurant in San Antonio!!! The waitstaff was hospitable and helpful. We had the shrimp boil with level 2 heat, the trinity sauce, and add-ons (dungeness clusters, sausage, and veggies). It was absolutely amazing! We also tried the banana pudding for dessert. I’m not only returning to this place again, I’m bringing friends and family.
The banana pudding by itself earns this place 4.5 stars, and the Trinity sauce is damn near a religious experience. This place gonna make me FAT!
We've (wife & I) gone to various similar seafood restaurants and this is by far the best.
Not only was the server great and attentive (didn't get his name but he was super tall) but explained and put up with our indecisiveness.
What we ate/drank:
The Hurricane Flight -
We are not drinkers so these were strong for us. You get 5 small Mason jar drinks. 4/5 tasted great. The last one was too strong for us but not bad.
Lobsta Pasta
Great. Solid. Lobster was delicious and pasta hit the spot.
Custom boil
We cannot handle spiciness so we had zero spice in our boil but it had great flavor. We also got a side of #2 spice (forgot the name) to dabble with our boil and that was super spicy for us but the flavor was AMAZING!
Thank you Smashin Crab - we had an amazing lunch at yalls establishment.
Excellent food and service. A must for any seafood lover. Boils, poboys and gumbo are top tier. Decent beer selection and pretty good signature drinks. Great lunch values! Didn't post enough pics but I'll be going back to take more.
Tried a couple new items this time and absolutely LOVED THEM !! I’ve had the seafood boil before and it was great, this time I tried the lobster roll, jambalaya balls, pecan pie and banana pudding for dessert. The lobster roll was packed with buttery crab and tasted better then any other I’ve had, the roll came with some crispy and Cajun fries and coleslaw (I don’t usually like coleslaw but there’s is great) !! The jambalaya balls were recommended by our server Eric and they did not disappoint, highly recommend you try them if you haven’t. The pecan pie was alright, I’ve had better and it was really soft compared to others. The banana pudding is made in house, it’s creamy, not overly sweet and has the perfect banana taste. Don’t be afraid to get out of your comfort zone and order something other than a seafood boil here. Overall service was great, Eric was friendly and had great recommendations.
Food are great. But you have to be patient eating crab, but the taste is delicious.
Staff was incredibly attentive. Kudos to Phoenix, our server. Appetizers came out quickly, and drinks were always topped off. The Magnolia boil was perfect and butter was flowing. Shrimp were huge and amazing. Very happy Traveler!
Amazing food! I’m visiting from Denver and I hands down one of the best experiences I’ve had enjoying my vacation here. I’ve been searching for places to eat in the local area and this place popped up. I don’t normally leave reviews but I feel compelled as the food was absolutely exquisite. The whole experience from start to finish is great. But on top of that, our server Kaylyn is out of this world.I just LOVE the service, she was kind, entertaining, efficient and attentive. Her attitude and willingness to accommodate my husband’s dietary restrictions made us feel welcome. I cannot recommend this place enough! We left with full bellies and smiles on our faces.
we came in for dinner from
del rio and arrived less than half an hour before closing and the staff was still super hospitable and friendly. we had the trolley stop and it was so much food that we couldn’t even finish it. we had an awesome barbie drink that they had created and it tasted like a popsicle and was totally delish. our server phoenix was great and i will definitely be back again when in town.
Amazing food accompanied by great service. However, their HH HAS CHANGED. They use to offer gumbo and oysters... some of their best menu items. Their prices have also increased. Not a fan of the changes. Management take note. However, if you go, ask for Jen...she'll take great care of you.
I've been looking for a GOOD seafood restaurant like this, and a friend told me about it and I wasn't disappointed. Never heard of the place before I went Sunday and it was awesome. Prices weren't ridiculous for what I got either. Best kept secret I've found in a long time. Allyson was the sweetest server too. I can't wait to go back. Only small issue was my clams and mussels weren't steamed quite enough as several weren't open.
The service here is amazing. We had a large party and staff was attentive and accommodating. The food is average. All the fried food tasted the same. The roasted oysters were slightly undercooked. The sauces had obviously been set out earlier as they were starting to crust over.
