I hosted a baby shower here. They were beyond accommodating, the food was great, and our server was very attentive. We stayed almost an hour past our "reserved" time and they did not mind at all. Highly recommend this place for large groups. Amanda was the manager I coordinated with and she communicated with me for about a month before the shower via email.
I've never done a food review on anything. This place was so amazing. I've never had such tasty food before. Easily the best Mac and cheese and burger I've ever had.
Hands down, one of the few best breweries here in San Antonio with GREAT FOOD. My partner ordered the Egg & Beef Burger which was recommended to me; however, I ordered the Fish & Chips along with a Chimay. Oh My Goodness! Everything was delicious! The Mac & Cheese.. Ah. You need to try it yourself.
We sat out in the patio one visit and the next we sat inside - both were quite nice and comfortable.
This is one of our places to wine down after a long week or month. I definitely recommend The Hoppy Monk to our friends and colleagues.
Stopped in while passing through San Antonio for a bite to eat and a few drinks. The food was wonderful (wings, Ruben, and elote fritters), and everything we had was great. This place has a wonderful tap list, however 4 of the first 6 beers that I was targeting had run out (must have been really good beers). I was still able to put together 2 flights, that's how good their tap list is.
If you are in the area looking for great food and a wide variety of beer and cocktails, I would highly recommend stopping in.
Nice bar with a good selection of beers, great cocktails and very interesting bites. To drink we got the Empress Strikes Back cocktail which comes with gin, it was a small glass but it was very good. My partner got a beer, that was also great. To eat we got the Rabbit Tacos, they were good but nothing outstanding, however, the other dish was extremely good, it was the Gochu Chickenwhich, which is basically a sandwich made of chicken that is marinated in gochujang sauce, it was very interesting and delicious combination of flavors. I definitely recommend this place.

This is a good spot to just relax or go on a date. They have a range of items to drink and eat. Specializing in beer and whiskey, and having pub food such as fish and chips, chicken wings, burgers, fries, and chips. This location has a wheel chair accessible area and parking. Go and tey the wings they are good.
I looked up places to eat and a good happy hour in NE San Antonio and ran across this place. It was a good call! I met two girlfriends there for happy hour. We had the Hemingway tequila and these were good cocktails! I ordered a burger by Courtney's suggestion and that was another good call! The girls ordered a Cobb salad and Rabbit tacos and that looked really yummy too. We ordered some fries to share. The service was awesome! We loved Courtney but honestly everyone was great! It was pretty loud in there but we could still chat comfortably. I really enjoyed it and I would be back!
Extensive craft beer list with a good food menu. Very excellent service. Everything was great!
I am not much of a beer drinker myself but I do enjoy a good sour beer if it's a little sweet too, so I really enjoyed the Hi Seas fruit punch sour beer that I tried. Our server had excellent knowledge of the beers and she was very helpful in picking out new ones for me to try. We ordered some elote fritters as an appetizer and they were just as delicious as I'd hoped they'd be. After a few more drinks we ordered the rabbit tacos and the gochujang chicken sandwich, both of which were very delicious and flavorful. The chicken sandwich was huge and I wasn't expecting such a big portion and the ranch dressing made in house went really well with it. We agreed we both enjoyed Hoppy Monk more than Whiskey Cake so we will definitely be back again in the future to try out more food and drinks.
This is a nice place to hang out. They have outdoor seating. The food is great, great taste. The service is great too, make sure you have everything (water, napkins and etc). Very respectful too. Plenty of parking.
The Hoppy Monk is a very unique restaurant, it has an industrial look to it, an endless amount of alcohol and beer, it has covered parking, handicap parking as well. The wait staff is very friendly.
Love the beer menu. Loads of my favorite style, sour. Food was delicious. The purple chips are amazingly fresh too. Easy one of my favorite places to go at night. Patio dog friendly, if you have a well behaved one bring them here. Some waiters even had treats. Great atmosphere. 5 out of 5. Keep up the great work.
Btw had the mussels and I hated them..still giving 5 stars for atmosphere, service and selection IMO
