The chicken enchiladas with poblano cream sauce were delicious, probably some of the best enchiladas I've had. Their charro beans were awesome as well, with nice smoky flavor and big chunks of jalapeño and bacon. The flan was also a tasty dessert.

This is a wonderful restaurant for excellent Mexican food. You can tell how great it is by the number of locals eating here. Service is fast and friendly and the food is delightful and inexpensive. Highly recommended.
Here for dinner on Friday night, arrived about 5:45 and were seated imediately. By the time we left (6:30) there were 20 people waiting. The Nacho's were great and so was the puffy taco. Service was a little slow, but it was crowded. Prices are a little on the high side, but their food is really good. Parking can be a problem after 6.
I haven't gotten the chance to dine in, but recently used Uber Eats to order food from this location. The food we received was so delicious and had incredibly generous portions. I suggest the Chicken Tortilla Soup or the Green Chile Enchiladas!
A nice tasty lunch on a sunny Monday in March. Chicken enchiladas were hot and fresh. Beans were good but I left the rice on the plate. I ate one tortilla and would have happily eaten more but the calories, well, you know about the calories, and the carbs. Anyway, the decor is nice but the bathroom was too small to be expected to stay clean and the crowd makes for a loud environment. I'll go back.
Very authentic Mexican food I tried the pollo puffy tacos and they were excellent. If you're from out of town make sure to let them know the staff is really helpful with helping you decide on what plate to order.
Wonderful food, wonderful service. I now understand why at 2PM in the afternoon, I was waiting in a packed restaurant. Only took 15 minutes to be seated so no biggie there compared to the tons of people there. I had Lemon Butter Tilapia, empanadas, and the churros con cajeta which was excellent. I sit here at 7:05PM still pleasantly full and the price was really good. Appetizer, 2 main courses, 2 desserts for 2 people came to $33 and some change. I will be back! Impressed.
My girlfriend digs this place but I dont see much happening here. I was surprised that the food is pretty expensive for a southside restaurants. I enjoy the nachos and it does have a family feel to it. It is a fast paced restaurants and are always busy so be prepared to wait. Food is solid and it beware they're closed Sundays.
Tortilla soup , flour tortillas, corn tortillas, & fish tacos where off the chain!!! We had a super nice server (Tamisha) considering it was late and the place was packed:)...
Convenient Location With Great Food. We were driving from one mission to another when we noticed Nicha's Comida Mexicana. It was almost 2PM on a weekday but the place was packed, a clear indication that this place would have wonderful food. We were quickly seated and given a menu and chips with salsa. Our waiter was very attentive which made getting a quick lunch possible. I ordered the tortilla soup combo while my husband had the chile rellenos plate. Within thirty minutes we were filled with delicious Tex-Mex food and on our way again!
Great lunch near the Missions. This place was the perfect spot to grab lunch before touring the Missions. The place was packed on a week day for lunch, and I can see why. Great food and service. The beans and rice were good, but average for Tex-Mex. What stood out to me was the incredible depth of flavor in the enchilada chile sauce. I would go back for that.
This location is too far from us for regular visits, but I see they have a north side location, and I intended to check that out.
Bottom line: highly recommended if you are in this part of town for the Missions.
Nicha's is a must when we visit San Antonio. The food is great. The service is fast and friendly. And the prices are reasonable. I had a small bowl of posole and the Texas fried burrito. The food was so good that even the tortilla was smiling!! (See attached picture).
WOW!!! This place is fantastic! Justin and Mike are fabulous. Best Mexican food in Texas. I have celiac and really wanted 3 enchiladas plate. They found a way for me to have all three by switching one out with a different sauce that was amazing by far. All three were delicious. We went for dinner and had margaritas, which I highly recommend. They have a margarita flight that I was tempted with but really wanted the Chamoy, which has me craving them even now. Superb service that makes you feel like family, and we were just traveling through. Food is to die for, and I eat a lot of Mexican food so trust me! The ambiance is also nice. Small restaurant feel but with enough space that you don't feel like you are on top of each other. We will definitely return on our way back through. Thanks again Mike and Justin!!!! You care about your patrons, and it shows.
Their menudo is among the very best on both sides of the border..!!! Hearty and substantial breakfast will get you started your day with plenty of energy to go exploring the nearby historical Missions
This was my first time being here and I ordered the carne guisada plate with charro beans and a Pepsi. I love that this place still gives chips and salsa before your food comes out at no charge. My plate was ready good. 😋 Bam! I loved everything. The tortillas were so awesome and those chips were next level. So light and a great pair with that salsa. I can't wait to bring my family and friends next time.
I've seen this spot on social media and it did not disappoint.. parking lot was packed. We were greated and seated as soon as we walked thru the door. Food was great and the waitress was too. Not to big inside but perfect for a family of 4-6
Great food, good prices, AMAZING drinks! I prefer this location vs the newer one. Be ready for a wait during peak times, but well worth it!
We think this is the best Mexican food in the area. I had the Mexican Plate. A huge amount of food. My wife had the monthly special "Chipotle Shrimp Skillet". Excellent!! The service was terrific. Thank you Jose!. He recommended Papillas for dessert with a scoop of ice cream. We had never had that, but we loved it. And there is a lovely mural on the wall when you walk in.

My food was delicious. Got the regular cheese enchiladas, swapped the carne guisada sauce for the mole sauce. We were a very big group, 15+. Staff was great with us. Accommodated the children's orders, my own as well. All of the food was fabulous!!!
Want to go back very soon.
We love eating here. Justin was our server this evening and He did an excellent job. Food arrived hot and our drinks never ran low. Prices are great!!! Thank you for another great visit.
Every time we go it’s really good from the food to the people haven’t had a bad experience yet. Food is always hot a delicious and Mexican authentic.
