This was my first time to San Antonio Riverwalk and we decided to eat at The River's Edge Cafe for breakfast, I was drawn by the menu. We were greeted by the kindest people. We ordered breakfast and I asked the server about the annual Christmas parade . I asked for help because I did not know where to buy it and which would be the best place to sit at so the assistant manager Norma Baltierrez was so helpful and kind, she went out of her way to help us. She set aside front row seats for us to purchase so that we can experience the parade front and centered. My husband and I were so grateful and happy. We feel that we have made friends at The River's Edge Cafe and Patio Bar. All the servers, from Angel to Yolanda Granado were so friendly, and kind. I want to thank all the people at The River's Edge Cafe and Patio Bar on making my stay a time I will never forget. If you want to eat great, delicious food, and want to meet warm and friendly people, you must go to The River's Edge Cafe and Patio Bar.
Visited the first time a year ago and came back to see if the tacos were as good as I remember. They were. I also enjoyed the tortilla soup. I don't recommend the margaritas. The price does not justify the quality.
Sit on the patio, it is wonderful.
This place is on the relatively quieter part of Riverwalk and that makes it a winner. There is always a wait time and the menu is rather limited. The service was good and quick. The food was flavorful but seemed to be left waiting for too long (especially the Spanish rice and beans that came along with the enchiladas)
Margarita Flat Bread 👍👍👍
Enchilada Plate 👍👍👍
Soup of the day (mushroom) 👍👍👍👍
Nice lunch. Great service and the portions were great. Hamburger was tasty as was the panini club. Price was a bit high but I would go back.

Service was excellent and the breakfast was wonderful.
Awesome food! Happy hour everyday until 6. $4 margaritas!! Delish!!!! Under the Hilton on Riverwalk!
The breakfast buffet was adequately sapid. The view of the Riverwalk was beauteous enough. And our server was excellent. It was a little bit on the pricey side, but we'd definitely go again.
Food was absolutely delicious I loved every second of it, waiter was above and beyond customer service, and the atmosphere was very nice, we went around 9am on a Sunday, in my opinion probably the best time to go before the rush, definitely will come back again!
We decided to have brunch here while visiting San Antonio. Upon getting to waiting area to get seated, the host was there and did not acknowledged us and just walked off. A few minutes later she came back and checked us in. It was about a 30 minute wait to get seated. We decided to have outdoor seating, the outside area was not clean. The table and menus weren’t clean as they were sticky and smeared. The brunch menu is limited as it is different from the weekend, no exceptions were made. Our food took about 20 minutes to come out. The food was decent, a a bit overpriced I would say.
In general it was an okay experience eating here, the view and ambiance at the river walk made it somewhat worth it.
Oh my goodness literally the best breakfast ever. The potatoes were 10/10. Egg barbacoa was the best I’ve had in my life not sorry lol I actually need to come back! I went maybe 3 weeks ago but man the food was so flavorful and service was quick and everything was clean and well prepared. Orange juice is free refills.
***MILITARY DISCOUNT*** The service is fast, friendly, and efficient. Our server was knowledgeable in the menu and offered substitutes for my vegetarian requirements. Everything was delicious. I love that you can people watch, watch the Rio boats go by on the river. If it is nice out, get a seat on the patio, just beautiful.
Waiting on the food to come out was a little long but food was great! I had the garden harvest omelette which was cooked perfectly, and the potatoes were crispy. Next to the Hilton Hotel which was easily accessible if you’re staying there.
Starting at the Hilton we ventured to the Riverwalk for lunch. Had a great meal at the rivers edge Cafe. My salad was fresh and the greens were crisp and tasty. The dressing was well tossed and didn't overpower the flavors of the greens. Had the chili-lime chicken which added a great flavor to the salad. We also had the shrimp tacos which looked wonderful and tasted better. Definitely will be back during our stay.
Incredible dishes at this small Spanish restaurant! Very tasty and perfectly sized…not too big, not too small. Be sure to get the guacamole and also recommend the fresh salsa. Service was fast, friendly, and the wait-staff anticipated our needs very well.
We only captured the front page of menu but they also have fajita plates, desserts and drink menu (including signature drinks).
This is our FIRST choice next time we come to eat on the Riverwalk!
Went for brunch. Staff was wonderful. It was too hot for me to sit outside but was placed by the window and still had an excellent view of the riverwalk.
What a perfect little spot to grab a mimosa, Bloody Mary or coffee on the River Walk while watching the ducks and boats float by. You do not have to be a guest at the hotel to eat here and it's great to bring your pups on the patio for brunch! The food was great and my server was so amazing! It's shaded and the breeze makes this such a perfect breakfast spot!
My family and I stopped in San Antonio for one day to explore the river walk. We were not sure what places would be open for breakfast, so we just walked around looking. I am so glad we found this place. The chicken and waffles were so good, but my favorite part was the cherry French toast. I would highly recommend this place.
