I loved it here! Very beautiful and festive for Christmas!! The food was delicious! Service was great! I love old historical places and this wasn't a disappointment! If you haven't been to the Gift shop you need to drop in! Lots of cute TX things to buy!

Amazing breakfast on a Thursday morning with my wife. When passing the front of the property I didn't notice the sign before the bridge showing where parking was located so we parked on a side street a block or two away and walked through the front of the house which seemed to be set up as a museum. There was an amazing, highly detailed, gingerbread house on display when we first walked in and gift shop down the hall with a lot of historical information about the Guenther House on the walls. The next room was staged beautifully with a Christmas tree and even reindeer. Upstairs seemed to be set up with a banquet room that had a great balcony with an amazing view down the river and back into downtown San Antonio. We then followed the noise down the stairs to the cellar where we found the dining area and the kitchen. There we were able to ask where we could find a host/hostess. We were directed past the pastry counter to the back of the building where the hostess stand was located outside a walkway. Apparently, the parking lot for the Guenther House is around the corner of the building past the stand. We were offered a seat outside immediately or we could wait a bit to sit inside. Since we had just walked through the packed, noisy dining room in the cellar we opted to sit outside under the pergola. It was a bit chilly (for San Antonio, low 60s) but fortunately each table had a heater aimed down at it from up above which was perfect. Additionally, each chair has a Guenther House blanket that you could wrap up in or drape over your legs if you felt so inclined. The staff was extremely welcoming, helpful, and kind. The house coffee was flavored with 5 different flavors and was delicious. Both my wife's meal and mine were so tasty. The biscuits were huge, fluffy, and baked to perfection. I ended up ordering a cinnamon roll to go because I had a co-worker say good things about them. I shared it with my kids later that evening and wow, perfection. I highly recommend The Guenther House!

If you love food that does not taste fake or processed, then you will enjoy the food here. Biscuits and gravy are delicious. You just can’t have one bite. Pancakes are fluffy. Waffles are great too. Tortillas are made fresh and the refried beans are authentic. My kids are picky eater and they ate everything. I ordered the club sandwich- I kept thinking about the sandwich all day long. Ingredients and bread are fresh. Will definitely come back.

Last minute choice for brunch, and I can't believe I had never heard of this place before. The wait time was better as we toured the museum and shop over the restaurant. We all ordered breakfast items, and the best one was the biscuits and gravy. Finger. Licking. Good. The pancakes were tasty, BUT the waffles were on another level.

Guenther House was awesome. It took a little while to get a table. But it was worth it. The food was delicious, the pancakes and waffles were great. I'm looking forward to coming by again. While waiting, make sure to take a walk around. It's quite lovely. There is also a little shop and museum to see some of the history of the house.

Must visit while in San Antonio. The wait is not too bad. We waited 1 hour on a Sunday around 11 am. The food was good, and the service and ambiance are standouts here. The waffle, enchiladas, and pecan roll were all delicious. The portion sizes are...well, it is Texas.

I really wanted to like this place more, but compared to some of the other brunch options in San Antonio, the menu was pretty limited and predictable, the service was just passable (the host needs a shot of adrenaline), the wait times were ludicrously long, prices are high and nothing really wowed me. The house is interesting, the site is historic, the food is good (just not stunning), and if it had been less than an hour's wait, or better priced, or if the service folks had seemed interested in serving customers, then it might be 5 stars, but in San Antonio, you can do much better.

Came here for breakfast. Nice quant little place. There is a minimum waiting of 25 minutes to be seated inside. Outdoor seating does not have any wait. The outdoor seating does have heaters around. The food is decent and good. Not exceptional. The chicken sausages are very tasty here though.

Decent food, OK service, but not a great atmosphere if you're a local. Customers are almost 100% tourists. Felt too much like a downtown Riverwalk restaurant in that manner. I will go back for the cinnamon rolls they sell at the counter - best cinnamon roll I've ever had.

Food is very tasty yet very overpriced. I give it 5 stars due to the fact that you're paying for the experience, the ambience is out of this country. Very European vibes. Their patio is one of the most beautiful patios in the entire city. In my opinion my favorite waffles in San Antonio.
