Chuck’s Place is fantastic! The burgers are simple, classic, and delicious. In my opinion, it’s sort of like a mom & pop version of Shake Shack. There is a 1950s / classic Americana themed dining room, and then there’s ample covered seating outside as well. Definitely worth stopping by!
Best burger I have had in a really long time. It was hot and made fresh just like I ordered it. I also had the fried mushrooms which were delicious. The gentleman that waited on me was very nice and helpful since this was my first visit. A friend had recommended it to me and I'm glad I was able to finally get to try it. I will definitely be going back.

One of the best burgers in the area! Great small-town atmosphere with friendly staff. Food was made to order surprisingly quick and was delicious! Can't beat The Wimpy and some onion rings!
My first time there. Friendly employees good service. Food was hot and delicious. Definitely will go back. Kinda wish they had like meals instead of paying for everything separate. But great prices anyway.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Our order was ready in less than 10 minutes and hot and fresh and the fries were perfect. The burgers were very good, the meat fried crispy.
For a long time I didnt even know this place existed. They had a southern illinois burger contest and they came in second. I asked around and to my surprise fam and friends had been there stating it was just that good. My wife and I decided to check it out...it lived up to the hype! Fast service, food came out pretty quick and it was hot and delicious! Will def return.
First time today 03/31/2022 and awesome! Got a junior whimpy burger and fries and plain hamburger. A nurse at the Wound Center in Effingham told us about your place and we drove from Vandalia and it was worth the trip!! Definitely will be back👍
