Their lemon-filled doughnut is the FINEST filled doughnut I have EVER had! Get there early, however, as they sell out of them quickly. Without a doubt, they have the BEST DOUGHNUTS IN TOWN!!
Superb yeast donut. Light, fluffy, LIGHTLY glazed as one should be and best of all... that nice subtle yeastiness you can only get in a properly fried bread dough-nut!
Not a huge selection but very fresh. Came in here around 11am and unfortunately they didn't have much of a selection left. Not a single filled donut to be found. But the donuts I did get were really fresh and tasty. Would definitely like to go back earlier in the morning and try some more of their donuts.
65 years, being insufficient....... Time for me to complete this growing up thing, I ordered a cake donut with white icing and rainbow sprinkles. Perhaps I should mention that I have been a loyal patron of Daynight Donuts on S. Commercial Street for many years. The King offering I sampled today was very good but, despite other raves to the contrary, I think Daynight's product is as good, or better. I'd really hate to have to live off the difference. Anyone who is not satisfied with either place is very hard to please.
Great Donut Place. We have been going there every weekend for months. The owners are really nice, the place is clean, and the donuts are perfect. There seems to be a lot of people who go in there to drink coffee, read the paper, or talk with friends.

There simply are not any better donuts in Salem. The old fashioned glazed donuts are heavenly, but they usually sell out by noon.
For classic donuts, this is the best place in town. They are light, not weighed down/ or greasy. Lovely flavour and very fresh. Always sell out pretty early, for good reason!

Delicious!!!! I saw the reviews and saw that I had to be there early. Sunday I was there at 8 and wow what an experience. Apple fritter, chocolate donut and cinnamon crumble for the family with a coffee. Paid 14.00 for 1 apple fritter, and 4 six donuts plus coffee. Every bite was heaven. We tried our luck today and leaving Salem at 10 to see if they still had donuts and no, they were sold out. So glad for the experience on Sunday. Recommend getting up early and grabbing this for an early breakfast to anyone.
Greatest doughnuts anywhere. The glazed are to die for, applefritters are wonderful, buttermilks melt in your mouth. I go every weekend for at least a dozen. Go early, they only make so many varieties and when they are gone, there gone. Absolutely love this place!!
