I absolutely love Italian food, and this is some of the best I've ever had! The calamari and seafood pasta were amazing. My girlfriend and I were originally going to cunetto's house of pasta but they had a really long wait, so we went here. Best decision ever!
As in many small family restaurants in Italy, Lou Boccardi's is small, homey and fringes on modest -- no modern furnishings, no marble bar, no crystal light fixtures. Instead it's an old and weathered bar, the stairs to the upstairs dining area squeak and give with each step, and there are chipped places in the wall frescoes. JUST like a neighborhood restaurant in Naples or Milan. The food is authentic, and my favorite is the house dressing (I'm not a fan of anchovy anything, but go out on a limb -- it's quite a distinctive flavor!).
What a quaint little place to grab some lunch or dinner. Loved it! Ordered the Tortellini, it was delicious!
They are a great family style italian resturant, the drink adult style was well masterly blended and the scallops were perfect.. low cost, for what it is, and a five star eat
CBD hot cocoa was good, Alfredo was excellent, good cheesy garlic bread and oh yeah the salad was fantastic. Oh and the pizza was yummy too ❤
My husband and I decided to stop in on Friday evening around 7 for dinner. We were welcomed by the bartender and were sat promptly. The decor is absolutely stunning and provided a very intimate dining experience. We had an appetizer of toasted ravioli that were perfectly crispy. My husband had the Chicken Roma while I had the Godfather pizza and both were perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The last time I had dined here was around 19 years ago and the quality of the food and service has certainly not diminished one bit.
The service was amazing. They were attentive and friendly. The food was fantastic - everything is made in house and made in a timely fashion. We will definitely go back if we are ever in St. Louis again.
It was incredibly dead for a Friday night. We might have been the people in the place. The service was spectacular. I had the veal marsala we were able to get white pasta instead of red for a $3 upcharge. It was worth it. My friend had the chicken marsala and also loved it. It was very affordable and yummy. My only complaint was the house dressing which was anchovy based. It was still edible but I don't know if I like anchovies. That's not their fault though. I tried something new and it just wasn't for me. I'd have liked a honey mustard, personally. Overall, very impressed. I'll likely visit again!
If you're looking for an affordable lunch or date night spot. Look no further.
Cozy casual dining experience and simple menu makes this spot on par with the rest of the Hill. It earns it's spot and is definitely being slept on. No mask requirement as of this review.
Pasta and sauces are made in house, full of flavour, and hot. The prices for drinks and food are surprisingly low for the area. Every entree comes with a salad.
Please keep in mind, the only downside is the small bathroom. It is small. And there's only one.
Also keep in mind they run a very tight ship. One or two servers and the owner is in the kitchen cooking everything. The quality is worth the wait.
Perfect for lunch and weekday date nights. Seriously, you won't have to wrestle with the long lines and wait times.
Poor server was also the cook. Running around like crazy but keeping up really well.
