Really good tacos. I don’t eat hot so was just perfect for me. Well seasoned and the tacos was good size you can get full with 3 of those ones. You gotta clean your own table outside. I didn’t came inside restaurant to see how it was. Definitely worth trying out.
If you are serious about tacos you have to check this place out! My family calls this are taco corner because there are 3 taco places on this corner however el torito has the best! Since discovering this place we eat here no less than twice a week and the kids love it here as well. After eatimg we usually go to the store and buy some stuff for dinner and/or dessert. Do not pass this place by!
Great hidden gem. Find the little gems on this street if you like and you're in taco heaven.
Second edit:
Giving them 5 stars back. I realized I had more good meals here than I had bad ones, thought of giving them another chance last Friday when I was around the area. Also give them props for acknowledging my review. This time they did taste as good as I remember so I felt compelled to come back and give them what they deserve. The 2 guys were very nice and friendly also. I had barbacoa, campechano and chicharrón prensado. The chicharron doesn’t taste or look anything like I’ve seen before but still good. Will keep coming back!
EDIT:
They have gone downhill… if you can see my pictures side by side, the black tray is from maybe a year ago and the red one is from yesterday. The meat was barely cooked and didn’t have much flavor. I have a stomach ache right now and I guess that’s why, since it was pork. The salsas were at least still pretty good. I really used to like them but not anymore, won’t be back. I’ll go to El chilango or Sabroso for tacos.
I’ve come here for 2 weekends in a row. Great, very good tacos, quick and cheap just like an authentic taco should be. I’ve tried pastor barbacoa and carnitas and they are all awesome. I’m from Mexico City and I miss the good greatly, these tacos do the job. Taste almost like home. The salsas are also super good which usually make or break a good taco. It’s a bit far from me but I’m always willing to drive for good food.
I was contacted to do some electrical work there. In the process of working I found myself hungry so these lovely folks hooked a brother up with a DELICIOUS sandwich and beverage to quench my thirst. I took these pics of the restaurant/grocery store and the surrounding landscape so please enjoy.
Food was good. Customer service was okay, nothing to complain about but could be better. Reasonable prices. Authentic to cultural foods. Thumbs up.
Delicious street tacos and cold bottled beer on the patio at a super reasonable price. Food was quick, people were friendly. Great all around experience for a quick dinner.
I am a seeker of authentic and I mean authentic tacos I was raised in Chicago so we know good food! Well let me tell you, the tacos de tripa and lengua were one of the BEST we have ever had! Super quick to pickup too! One of our friends recommended us this spot for we in town for an week and we are very pleased 😀!
Finally found a good *actual* taco place in St. Louis! Freaking delicious!!
Rating is only based on the patio taco stand. If youre looking for real tijauana or LA style street tacos and a beer from an ice cooler come here.
