Purely lovely French bakery owned and operated by a French couple, who brought the best of the Old Country with them. Their authentic recipes are outstanding, and you can enjoy them in a cozy, quaint dining area. Their prices are reasonable for their fine, hand-crafted baked goods. They added a lunch menu (the Italian ham and brie cheese is fantastic!), so now you can enjoy specialty sandwiches, salads, quiche and tartines.
Great food! Chocolate mousse with Caramel is excellent. Enjoyed the roast beef sandwich and Croque Monseuer with salmon. The photos are from another visit. Second time for me and my mother in-law drops in there all the time. Very friendly, family run restaurant.
Nice but limited selection of sandwiches, salads, and pastries prepared by a lovely mother-daughter team.
FYI, Parking is still free about a half block North along the opposite side of Vandeventer.
I went here with my mom and I really enjoyed it. I could hear the staff speaking french in the kitchen. The cook came out and personally delivered our food, and said, 'bon apetite!' It was awesome. The salad I had was legitimately one of the best I've ever had. Highly recommended!
After spending close to a month in France last year, I’ve been on the hunt for authentic croissants. Like Home delivered. Buttery, flaky, and a perfectly chewy consistency. The staff were super friendly and even heated up my chocolate croissant for me. My new go-to spot in St. Louis.
This was some of the most authentic, and delicious food I have ever tasted. It was very evident how much work the owner and her daughter(who are actually from france) put into each morsel that they serve. The service is great, and the staff was so welcoming. The food wasn't cheap, but it was worth every cent. The shop itself was clean, charming, and adorable. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to try more than the usual american cuisine.
The young woman that helped us was friendly and informative without making us feel like dummies for not knowing what everything was. We got a huge brunch and espresso drinks. All items were delicious and tasted so fresh. We took home a chocolate tart and a macaron. They were delightful! I'll be going back every opportunity I get.
Very nice little place. Lady was very sweet, strawberry torte was delightful love it, have to try macarons next time :(.. The quiche was very good love that it had salad with it, and also the fact that the chef came out and handed me my to go lunch wonderful would recommend and go there again.
Macaroons are amazing and come in so many flavors. Breakfast Quiche was outstanding. Warm cozy environment, employees are so friendly and you can tell they love their job
Truly does feel like a cafe you’d find anywhere in France...I can’t say enough good things about this place—the atmosphere is amazing, and the food is inexplicably delicious. Highly recommend the smoked salmon croque (with an egg!)....you really can’t go wrong, though; everything I’ve ever had has been wonderful.
