Kim Massie and her band we're incredible. The place is a little small and cash only, so beware. We didn't try the food. The bar was very acceptable.
Stopped here an hour before a cardinals game and they had amazing live music, perfect atmosphere, the bartender was on point, and the food was amazing. Not too crowded either considering there was a baseball game. Love it. Recommend it. Come Sunday night's 5-8 the band is good.
Great place for live music. WE always go to catch a live Blues music. But last weekend we went and the band played classic rock songs, not one but at least two sets. I don't want to hear "Radar Love" or some other classic rock song when I go to hear blues. We left.
I saw the incomparable Kim Massie, undoubtedly the hardest-working Entertainer in St Louis. she is always fabulous and the Beale venue for her. She appears every Thursday night and has other evenings there as well she's multi-talented it's wonderful to see her there in the summer because the outdoor section is open and so it's not as crowded you're under the beautiful sky and tonight the weather was outstanding it wasn't unbearably hot but Kim was.
The musicality, personality and soul of this place...it is an experience! I knew from the sounds of the band with the lead singer (Russell?) that I was in for a treat. He delighted us with hits from the Isley Brothers, James Brown and Stevie Wonder. He was terrific! Kim was also a treasure, such a great hybrid of Ella Fitzgerald and Aretha Franklin. She even took the time to sing me happy birthday! Beale on Broadway isn't a swanky club with sticky leather couches and hanging chandeliers. It is a bar where people go to let music soothe them after a rough week, dance with their friends to a groovy tune, laugh over drink with a co-worker while tapping their foot to a beat and just....be.
Cozy blues bar with a nice porch out back. Good food and plenty of good music. If you're feeling adventurous during a break in the action, there are two other fine blues clubs on the same block. One across the street and one down the block from it. I'm not saying blow this place off, just that there are three great Blues Club options at your fingertips and why not make a night of it?! Variety is the spice of life, right?
The patio had a nice jazz vibe with friendly staff that greeted us. Drinks were reasonably priced, but the beer was served in plastic cups in what seemed like a size bigger than what shots were served in.
Always good music. Always a cover charge of at least $5. Always Friendly and fun bartenders. Bathrooms are absolutely tiny. During the summertime the patio is Absolutely the place to be.
Very nice venue for summertime blues outdoors. The sound was well done the beer choices were good and staff very friendly. The local group that opened the show was very good too!
Great place to listen to music. A little small rhough. Got there just in time to listen to Jeremiah Johnson band. They were great. Good song selection...soulful.
