This is a magnificent place to enjoy scrumptious Italian pastry and mouthwatering Italian gelato. I keep coming back to try new things whenever I'm in the neighborhood. Slowly working up to the nice looking salads and authentic focaccia. Outdoor seating is small and nice if one can score a table and chairs to tarry for a spell.
The food and dessert is delicious and light. There is gelato and macaroons. There is thin crust pizza, pasta, and other savory meal dishes. The owner is a gentleman.
Authenticity is one the most important elements in a bakery, and I can see how Gran Milan stays true to it. Located in a very nice midtown, this small bakery shows some serious talent within. I got a sfogliatella, which is an Italian layered pastry, sometimes called a lobster tail. It was filled with sweet orange flavored ricotta cheese, almond paste and candied citron peel. Yes, it sounds complicated but its delicious. My friend got the same thing as well because this thing just looked too fancy to not get. The lady behind the counter was nice and friendly. I will have to come back to try more pastries and some drinks too! Overall a great experience I can't wait to try again.
I came here for the first time recently and ordered a Sfo...ella Mela (I forget the full name). The crust was dramatically lighter, flakier and more flavorful than anything offered by other bakeries or coffee shops that I have tried. The strawberry on top tasted like it had been picked that morning.
The cost was about 30% less than that of a comparable pastry from Temple or Old Soul. That is the case for almost everything on their menu. I will definitely return to this place.
The service was impeccable, the food is beautiful, and the atmosphere makes you feel like you're in a real Italian cafe. The wonderful lady that helped me elevated the whole experience. I ordered the chicken pesto panini and it was SO good. I can't wait to get back there you try more deliciousness!!

This location just open a couple of weeks ago, and I couldn't wait to try some of the new pastries, which are made with real ingredients, and by real Master Pastry Chef!
The gelato is so delicious as well, as their Foccacua sandwiches, and pizza. You will enjoy everything here!
I haven't eaten here yet but I deliver from here thru Postmates. The lady that helped me out though was very nice and offered me a drink while I waited. Not just the usual tap water...but i selected a can of diet coke from there entire drink menu. I thought that was extremely nice. A+
What a gem in Sacramento! The sfogliatella took me back to Napoli and the Almafi Coast. Delicious! A piece of home. So many outstanding options.
Chef Paula is a blessing! I called from out of state to place an order and brighten a friends day. Paula was incredibly patient and through while answering all of my questions.
