Recommend for a quick casual breakfast or lunch. First time visit on a Saturday around 10am. Great experience. Most of the tables were full but we got seated in 5 minutes. Prices: most of the food is under $10. Won't break the bank, but you won't be stuffed either. Coffee drinks are in the $3-$6 range, but don't forget Identity Coffee owns this place, so the drinks are premium. Wife and I got the Avocado toast extra, and the sausage biscuit sando. Very good. Biscuit sandwich was the winner. Avocado toast was kinda hard to eat without making a mess. Atmosphere: not loud, spacious, minimalist decor and wood booths. Lots of young couples and a couple young families. Seating: they'll seat and wait on you but it looks like you can sit at the bar and order from there. Lots of easy street parking. There aren't bike racks, so if you ride there, you're locking up to a pole. But the windows are big and outside corner visibility sweeping, so you can keep an eye on your bikes. Great spot, will be back again for a quick casual breakfast. Recommend.

Super cute, casual corner cafe in the heart of Boulevard Park. This place opened about 2 months ago and replaced an old corner convenience store. Nice selection of breakfast food, pastries, and tea - my fave is just the simple biscuit and jam. Also a great spot for a quick coffee run - iced Americano to-go will hit the spot every time! The spot, itself, is open & bright and provides for a nice ambiance. It could probably use some artwork up on the walls, but I assume that will all come in due time. Shop keeps morning to lunch hours (7am-1pm) 7 days a week. Lots of counter and bar space with a healthy selection of 2 seater tables; 4+ seating tables are more limited. Weekends can get busy, so plan accordingly if you're planning to meet a group.

The subtle ambiance of a classic vinyl record player, paired with the wooden booth styled seating and a few pictures and plants add to the bright and airy atmosphere of this cafe. Perfect brunch spot for a rainy day morning. The waffles are ginormous, enough to split between 2, and fluffy. Their hazelnut spread tastes better than Nutella! The classic latte made with oat milk was delicious and was the exact pick me up needed for a Saturday morning brunch. Oh and did I mention I was able to get all this vegan?! Highly recommended, I'll definitely be back for more.

Loved this new breakfast cafe tucked away in the quiet neighborhood near the Blue Diamond factory. From the outside it looks like a small cafe but opens up to a lot more space and seating once you step inside. The name, Simpleton, rings true throughout. Their menu is straightforward, with a selection of options for carnivores, vegetarians and even vegans. Their coffee and espresso are from Identity Coffee which is a solid plus. The staff were amazing and absolutely loved my server, Julia, who had great suggestions along with an upbeat and playful energy. Right now their kitchen hours are just 8 am - 1 pm, but this could expand if things go well. Definitely recommend everyone check this place out.

I've tried Simpleton several times now. As far as breakfast goes, they provide a nice selection with some pretty good waffles. The lunch offers are more limited but still nice. I really liked their pastries. The coffee and tea are also good. My wife feels like they could better filter their water. Service has been quick and friendly. I like the ambiance though there definitely needs to be some artwork placed on the walls and some niches need filling. Hopefully they will rectify this in the coming months. The plentiful supply of hooks for hanging bags/hats/coats is a nice plus. The front window looks inviting but is blazingly bright (at least in summer).

Food is good and hearty. The biscuits were different but just as good as I was led to believe! Coffee is very good, but one star off because they give you a fairly small cup then charge $1 for a refill. Really? Otherwise service is fast and friendly and I'll be back.

Great spot that is more like a cafe then a coffee shop. Good selection of food so you can hang out and eat lunch there. Sandwiches are fine but the bread is too thick and firm, doesn't add much to the sandwich. Coffee is very good, service is a bit unpolished but very friendly and attentive. Lots of regulars pop in and out. Don't sit by the windows the glare will wash out your laptops. I wish they had some shades. There is one table next to the coffee station, sit there if you are very social. They had decent Cisco wifi and while it did slow down a number of times when it was moderately busy it never dropped a connection. All devices connected just fine even if connection speed was just fair. Parking seems casual (2 hour) and not too hard to find. I do wish they had more comfortable seating but while not very comfortable they are better then most. Will definitely head back.

My boyfriend and I live in the neighborhood and we're so excited when we saw this place open up. We're big breakfast fans but hate pretentious places (and lines.) Finallly tried this place out and am already in love. Menu is breakfast staples, executed perfectly for a reason (if not economical) price. Coffee is a from a local spot we already frequent, and the biscuits are amazing. Avo toast was solid with great pickled onions. The decor is beautifully understated with wood paneling, mid century modern lamps, and gorgeous windows. See myself here every weekend.

Another stellar location brought to you by the folks behind Identity & Westside cafe. Though Lucky, Vanessa & Ryan just opened, the space, it is alway hoping. The weekends are a bit busy so you may have to wait a few minutes for a table. Trust me, it will be worth it. Jimmy's breakfast biscuits are f#*cking amazing! They make me drool just thinking about them. The coffee is great & rest of the food I've sampled has been delicious. You can order any of their dishes to go. Personally, I enjoy eating at the bar. Patio seating is in the works which will help with that possible wait. Beer & wine are also on the way. They have a solid, friendly staff. Do your tastebuds a favor & check this spot out.

Fantastic breakfast spot. The staff is incredibly friendly, the food delicious, and the service very speedy. The pesto scramble is one of my favorite dishes. Be sure to get a biscuit!
