Great food and service! The special lunch platter has more than enough food for 2. The sauces are solid and the Mac and cheese was damn good. Ribs and sliced tri tip were both excellent as well.
I had the sausage (1 lbs.)with onions.....and a couple of shots of vodka. The atmosphere is nice and chill. The food is great. I love Buckhorn.
So for the last year I've been trying to find good BBQ in Sacramento and finally a place that hits all the right notes! Awesome Mac n cheese, the spicy BBQ is great, and the sausage and tri tip are all top notch! Love it
Moved away and came back to find that Buckhorn is not only still delicious, it's got a mini bar too! The new look to the space is great and looks like they added some great appetizer and beer happy hour specials. The food is still grade A perfect and I still think they do tri-tip the best in all of Sacramento. Love that they had the San Francisco Giants game on and was able to enjoy my meal without all the background music. The service was still wonderful and everyone was very friendly. Price can get up there as it's about $15-$20 a person, but the meal is filling and worth every penny.

Not many places do tri-tip in Sacramento and Buckhorn does it pretty good! At a reasonable price too. Pulled pork is tasty as well.
I had a chicken - avocado crispy salad. Avocado was fresh, dressing was good and chicken was crispy. They have a place outside!

Everything here is good. I've explored almost every option on the menu and have never been disappointed. They almost always get my order perfect even when I customize and the food comes out pretty quick. The line can get a little long during lunch hours but it's never unbearable. The addition of the bar is nice, but they removed the self serve drink station so you now have to wait for a cashier to refill your drink. Other than that, no complaints.
