Great ambiance, impeccable service at the bar. Our table attendant was amazing and very knowledgeable about the menu and was very professional and friendly. Had an amazing filet with the best crab meat on top of it. Appetizers/ starters were very creative and excellent we had the sweet potato dumplings, the steak tartare and the blue crab. All very tasty.. the mustard overpowered the beef tartare a tad for my personal taste but very very good overall. Would definitely recommend and will be back!
My husband and me, and 3 other couples enjoyed dinner at Black and Blue Steak and Crab on Saturday night, December 16th. We were lucky enough to get the private room that's located just behind the bar area. The food and service were both outstanding. We started with the tuna tartare and it was plentiful (for 2 people to share) and delicious. The steaks were seasoned and cooked perfectly, and the mushroom side dish was wonderful as well. We shared crème brulee and key lime pie and the desserts did not disappoint. Service was top notch - professional, friendly, and accommodating. Everyone in our party had a great experience.
Great food and lovely place. Only drawback was that the upstairs was very cold. We had an amazing anniversary spent here and the food was absolutely amazing. Apps were just the right portion, the steak cooked to perfection, sides were exceptionally tasty and large, and they even comped out dessert for celebrating with them. Our servers were attentive and welcoming. We'll definitely be back.
If you would like to push your boundaries and gather American food prepared in a more modern way, you are in the right place. We were delighted with this restaurant. The food is phenomenal. The menu is extensive. Portions are big. The food is nicely served. The staff is very friendly and everyone is hardworking. The service is fast. It is also possible to take the remaining food home. Parking is provided, free of charge. Entrance to the restaurant is also available for people with disabilities. We are glad that we were guests here.
There are a few outstanding items off the menu one is an amazing side sweet potato dumplings. This is a multi step process and layered with flavor. The time to prepare is obvious and decadent. The meats and seafood are outstanding. Service is excellent. The wine list is ample for all tastes. Many serve a chocolate lava cake, they have perfected it.
Had dinner here with my family here on Wednesday night. We made a reservation at 8:45 we arrived at 8:25pm and were seated immediately. This restaurant is absolutely beautiful! Shortly after being seated, our host Justin came over, introduced himself and went over the menu with us. We ordered, the salmon, half rack of lamb, crab soup and lobster mac n cheese. The lamb came out with two specialty sauces which I really enjoyed. The salmon was cooked to perfection and my mother really enjoyed the crab soup. My favorite dishes were definitely the lamb and the lobster mac, the lobster mac was filled with flavor and lobster, so good! Though it is not on the menu, I am glad I asked and was able to order it. We did not order dessert because we werw stuffed but I definitely plan on visiting again next time I am in Rochester. Thank you Justin for the amazing service!
It was our first time there and it was very good. Great selection of items on the menu. Excellent wine selection and a decent selection of whiskeys.
The food was cooked perfectly, the sides are big enough for two. The desserts were excellent as well.
It's not cheap, but it was worth the money you spend.
The only issue I had was the chairs. They are surprisingly not great chairs. Not very comfortable. Beyond that. Very very good.
Perfectly prepared steaks and seafood. Whether having a business meal or a celebration, this is a place that will make the memories complete. The staff is amazing and professional. Great overall pick and one of the finest restaurants in New York.
We went to Black & Blue for our anniversary dinner. Our table was ready on time and we were treated to complimentary champagne which was a nice surprise. Our servers are very personable and completely honest about the menu and drink options which we appreciated. My husband had surf and turf with a cut of beef he had never had. It was excellent. The lobster however was quite bland. My dinner was great also and we shared several sides that we enjoyed. This is a pricey place so we don’t go often but it’s a good place to celebrate an occasion. We will definitely return.
We went without a reservation and got a table. Very nice upscale restaurant with nice atmosphere and good choice of food, located in shopping area so that the three parking lots are available. Plenty of staff who are hardworking but just when you need something it's hard to get someone to the table.
Went here for our anniversary already having a good idea we were going to pay a bit. The staff was courteous. Our waiter was funny and amusing. The steaks were perfectly cooked and the lobster Mac and cheese was the best I've ever had. Look forward to going again.
This place has a great presentation for the food. They are also generous in their sauces as you can select more than one. I asked for a Filet Mignon, and it was really tasty, but unfortunately, they made it rare instead of medium well.
