First time visit. Nice local or neighborhood place (parking can be a little tough). Sat at the bar waiting for friends to join me. Was greeted by Layla (?) the bartender. She welcomed me and showed me the drink specials.
Friends arrived about 7pm and had a nice visit and great pub fare. Next time I am in Richmond looking for a place to meet and eat, I will remember this place.
Some restaurants get it, some don't. The Grill does. The Grill is a great place to grab a bite or a drink with friends and family. Good weekly speacials and a classic daily menu. Would certainly recommend it!
BURGERS AND POBOYS. They have some of the best burgers in town. Monday night is half price. Try it out.
The poboys are delicious. Always fresh and flavorful
Onion rings are good compliment to both.
Waitstaff is always friendly and helpful.

Great food. I went to the grill tonight with a friend because we really wanted a good burger. We have eaten there many times and always enjoyed the burgers. When we got there we decided to look over the menu to see if we wanted anything different. We ended up deciding on the filet with potatoes and asparagus and the spaghetti with meatballs and we were not disappointed. The filet was cooked just as we asked and seasoned perfectly. Being very picky about steak, I was impressed and would definitely order it again! The spaghetti was great as well! We have been going there for the last couple years and have always enjoyed it but we are loving the changes. We would definitely recommend checking it out!

Ordering food here can be tricky. Some items on the menu are good. Others are very bad. My fiancée ordered the chicken tenders tonight and they were inedible. When we complained about them we were told they would be taken off the bill, but when the bill arrived, there they were. We pointed this out to our waitress and she said she would take care of it, but when she returned we were told that she was told she could only take off half of the cost. This was surprising because other than the one chicken tender that was passed around the table to demonstrate how bad it was, no other chicken was eaten. So, we were charged 50% for a dish that was completely inedible(apart from the fries.) We will be back because we enjoy the atmosphere, but we would advise you to never order the chicken tenders. They. Are. Terrible.
Great food! Service was fantastic! It felt like a hometown welcoming place. 2 bars one on each side. Oversized booths which help when you have 5-6 people. Live bands! Will go again.
They've got it together. I have now eaten at The Grill 4 times since summer and each time the food has gotten better. Rib eye steak is great and only $15. They will even do it Pittsburgh. The asparagus, crab cakes, Ceasar salad, etc. are very good. The service still could use some fine tuning. Plenty of help, but sometimes they stand around. Some are great just depends on who you get. We have taken different friends and they have all loved it. My friends say breakfast and lunch is great too. Remember this is not a ***** five star restaurant. Give it another shot!!
Shaky..... I ate at The Grill last night for the second time. I desperately want to like this place - it's close to my house, they did a nice job renovating, they serve beer, etc..... They are making it a little tough, though, and some of the blame rests squarely on the waiter that I had both times. He is exasperated by the whole experience of waiting tables, yet judging by his age, I bet he has been doing it for years. That aside, my wife's burger was either straight from the freezer, or made from ground cat. The menu claims "ground in-house", but not, "then frozen for six months". My pork tacos were pretty good, but not good enough to salvage my trip.... 4.5/10
EDIT: As I mentioned - The Grill is close to my house, so I have been back several times since they opened the bar section (which is quite a welcomed addition to the neighborhood scene). They have gotten much better and the Cheeseburger no longer resembles minced feline. Keep it simple and you should be safe!

This place is awesome. The atmosphere and the staff were all great and contributed to the epic time that I had. My server Sebastian was super polite and helpful and gave me great recommendations on food and drinks. I am looking forward to my next visit already. Cheers to the grill🍻
Stopped by for quick bite during the day, place was kind of loud and busy, but we didn't mind it. Started with fried oysters and we were stunned! Very pleasent surprise, such freshness and softness, we couldn't stop eating it. I tried many oysters in life, usually not fried, but this one was one of a kind! Couldn't decide what we should have for entree, so we ordered smokehouse platter to share and to try a bit of everything. There was quite some meat, and we had more than enough. I liked pulled pork most, brisket was dry and not as tender as it should be, but everything was tasty and enjoyable, very affordable place.
Great place to dive into a beer, have some smoked wings and watch a sports game. It can get a bit loud but that’s what will happen when the bartender turns the volume up on the music WAY too loud. We were about to head out so it was fine but sheesh. You literally had to shout to have a chat at your table. The food is pretty solid. Really enjoy the cheese triangles and the smoked wings. You pay a little more for them but worth it. I would like to see the “feta” on the hummus appetizer changed. It was like shredded cheese or something. I could also taste that the marinara sauce was burned but I didn’t let that ruin my fried cheese experience. Overall, I really like this spot.
My husband's mother was in the hospital and we stopped here to get dinner late just before the kitchen closed. We are so glad we did!!!! One of the waiters, Safet, was very kind, friendly, and helpful. He recommended the buffalo chicken wrap and the Philly cheesesteak, and both were delicious. Our actual waitress, Emmy, was also very friendly and suggested the house-made slaw and chip. Everything we had was delicious, fresh, hot, and served quickly with a smile. Went back again the next day for dinner. Spencer was our waiter, he was equally fantastic. We had a reuben, fried oysters and key lime pie, all were delicious
Nice local place for casual food. Nothing fancy, but if you need a solid Sunday brunch and want to watch the NFL game, this is a great spot. The chicken and waffles sandwich is TOP NOTCH.
Nice place outside patio on Patterson Ave. Great lunch specials in and out quickly but can also have a leisurely meal. Had a delicious Spinach salad excellent price and super filling and healthy. Definitely worth a visit!
Neighborhood staple we always come back to. We can always try something different on the menu and love it. My favorite is the salads because they are great quality and big portion for the price.
2017-11-18 breakfast (2 eggs, toast and sausage patties), server/waitress, bathrooms and decor were all excellent! We had to go around to the back and park our vehicle and walk around to the front entrance.
2017-12-02 breakfast (2 eggs, toast, sausage links, bacon, potatoes and waffle) was good and servers/personnel are always nice!
Great place to get a chicken wrap and fries. There looks like a lot to explore on the menu so Im definitely going back. The bartenders Sam and Priscilla were wonderful, friendly and attentive. I even got to speak with the GM who brought me my food :) Thanks Ryan for a top notch experience
I didn’t know The Grill was it’s own standalone restaurant until last week. I always thought it was the cafe attached to Libbie Market.
They’ve got some pretty decent food options. I love how there are tv’s set up around the multiple areas for everyone to enjoy some entertainment. It can get pretty chilly here, definitely bring a jacket. I’d recommend the chicken tenders, the steak quesadilla, and the peanut butter pie.
