I happened to be driving by here 1 day and literally doubled back because I just had to try them out for myself!
I ordered the vegan BBQ rib, sweet potatoes, collard greens (not shown), then Chik'n drummies, cabbage, and mac & cheese. My favorites were the Chik'n drummies, cabbage, sweet potatoes, and greens. The other items weren't bad, but could use some seasoning to kick it up a notch.
Luckily, the menu is SOOO vast that you can mix and match meals for a month and never have the same combination twice! I'll definitely be back to explore the rest of the menu!!
OMG…. RUN THERE NOWW!!!!! I am a pescatarian and I have tried a number of vegan places but NuVegan by far is the ABSOLUTE BEST!!!! If you’ve had Philly Vegan and liked them, you’re going to LOVEEEE NUVEGAN!!!! Parking is on the street but it was very easy for me on a Friday evening to find parking. The music, was EVERYTHING! If you’re like me and love 90s R&B then this is the place for you! They played hit after hit after hit. Honey I felt like I was at a concert waiting in line. The options are endless and they even allow free samples. Me and husband got different things to try each others food. So we tried the chicken sandwich with Mumbo sauce, steak and cheese, yams, cabbage, collard greens, Mac and cheese, cornbread and chicken salad! Money well spent. Everything was delicious! And the customer service was superb! They even bought our food to us at our table. I truly can’t wait to visit them again!
Loved finding a vegan restaurant in Richmond. NuVegan is fantastic! The food is just an explosion of flavor. I will be back at NuVegan every time I visit Richmond! By the way the picture is the Ginger Tofu on a bed of rice, sweet potatoes, garlic kale, and I’m drinking a “Green Glory” juice…
This is one of a few ALL-VEGAN restaurants in town and it's a gem. Vegan soul food all day! They even have brunch on Sundays. The drummies and the red wine kale salad are my favorite.

Stopped in after finding this place on Happy Cow. This is a must stop for any vegan or non vegan. The best collards, sweetpotato and "chicken" drummies/tenders arround!! The black bean burger 🍔 was fire! I am full and happy. I ordered an extra plate to go. I wish they were closer to me!
I am new to this vegan world. My husband and I stopped here, out of curiosity I was not disappointed. . The food was AWESOME!!...I will be going back. I don't know how the chick n dummies taste like chicken (so good)..collard greens and sweet potatoes, oh my I want some now just thinking about it now makes me want some dinner. This is my new way of life now and the food isn't bland
I love a full Vegan menu. The burgers & chicken sandwiches were delicious. Served hot and fresh! The sides on the other hand are in a buffet style on display. It’s still a must try if your in the area.
If you are in Richmond and looking for a vegan restaurant, definitely go to Nu Vegan! They have a lot of good tasty choices and fresh pressed juices . Be sure to try the drummies with some barbecue sauce.
Some of the best food I’ve ever had, period. So delicious I ate 2 servings and still went home and ate more, I couldn’t stop. Had a wonderful time in the fun atmosphere of the shop and chatting with the workers and some customers as well. Mac n cheese and drummers were to die for. Also, the seafood pasta salad is amazing. Everything was just so damn good.
This was my first time visiting this location as I have only been to the one in DC. It was a very nice establishment, was very clean, and in a convenient location. The staff members were all so polite, had great customer service and answered all the questions that I had. There were many options on the menu! I ordered the fried drummies, vegan Mac, chocolate chip cookie, and Oreo cheesecake. I really enjoyed the food but I feel that the Mac could have been seasoned better. I needed to add more salt in order to have a better taste to it. The portion size was okay for the price. Overall, I would recommend this place!
