Still the best pho for my tastebuds. The meat portions have gotten more generous since the name change (to Pho House of Noodle). Use the bathroom before leaving home, though!!

Vietnamese coffee is a killer! I can't wait to go back and order this again and again. Maybe even do a take out coffee! As for the food, it was a bit bland however I do think if we would have asked for more spice they would have added it. The service was exceptionally good even during a busy Friday lunch.
Great pho! Super hot. I stick to the pho Bo but it's tops. Best peanut sauce in town for spring rolls. Also, super friendly staff always remembers our order.
This used to be my spot for Phö, now it's mediocre at best. The skewer meat used to be chunky and juicy, now it's thin and fatty. Disappointing
Pho Diner?. This place wasn't bad, but not great. kinda reminded me of a diner, but for pho.
Pho 79 is a great place to introduce a novice to the world of Vietnamese food. The menu is friendly and offers enough variety for even a seasoned eater. Their main offering, it’s in the name, is on point. The prices were reasonable (sub $10 per) and the service was friendly. Make time for it.
okay first off, the atmosphere received 5 stars because I don't mind little mom and pop joints. I've had some of the best food at somewhat questionable establishments. this is one of them. it's an old building it's age shows but it's clean and the noodle soups are amazing, very delicate broths not oil ridden. very full of flavor that is not salty. The spring rolls are delicious every time! the owner/servers are always accommodating and gracious. this place is definitely worth trying.
I was pleasantly surprised as I have driven by this restaurant many times for the past 7 years and had not stopped by. I ordered the Chicken Pho to go but he gave me the broth cold. I asked why it didn't come hot and he said it will spill if it was cold. Needless to say, I was a little baffled and thought this was not a good sign. But surprisingly this was one of the best flavored Phos that I've had in Richmond. I really like that they gave me chunks of chicken instead of the sliced chicken you receive at other establishments. The menu is limited and I didn't try anything else, but I would highly recommend the Pho.
They say the best Pho places are usually "holes in the wall" this is definitely true with Pho House formally Pho 79. They are doing a great job keeping the restaurant clean, each table had hand sanitizer.
Overall the service was great and the Pho was delectable. My only complaint is the portion size. I really love good Pho and appreciate having the option to order a larger bowl when it is offered. I'd highly recommend.
If you are hungry and are driving past this place, give it a try. I'm glad I did. It has a hole in the wall feel on the outside but inside the restaurant is warm and very inviting. The food is reasonably priced as well as delicious. When you come in you seat yourself. The waiters are friendly and provide fast service. The fresh spring rolls are well made and are well filled and have chicken inside. I got the number 9 and they do not skip on their noodles. Was very full at the end of eating.
Absolutely delicious! Most authentic Vietnamese place I’ve found in richmond. Cant wait to come back for more (next time: Banh Mi or Hu Tieu🤩) I had the spring rolls, and pho tai nam this time. Their iced coffee is also really good! Everyone who works here is so sweet, too. Love how many options they have! I am so full, but I always can’t wait to come back!
Traveling for work and really wanted some authentic vietnamese food... this place is kind of dingy looking from the outside and interior decor, but the food is actually really great. I had the spring rolls, chicken vermicelli noodles, and pot hot tea-- it was all very delicious. Definitely worth a try if you're in the area.
We had a nice lunch at Pho 79. A large bowl of the signature pho was very tasty and filling with a good amount of beef. The fresh Spring rolls were also quite good.
Been coming here for over a decade and have never been disappointed. Always amazing pho
We used to come here for Pho when kids were younger, haven’t been here for many years. Now my daughter would come here to have BBQ Pork over Broken Rice by herself. I have stopped by while I was in the area to pickup some Vietnamese Sandwiches for lunch the next day. As soon as I walked in, the aroma of Vietnamese food make me craving for a big bowl of Pho. If I didn’t have dinner ready at home, I would sat down and ordered everything on the menu. I cannot comment on their Pho since I haven’t had it in a long time, but the BBQ Pork Sandwich, BBQ Beef Sandwiches, BBQ Chicken Sandwich and the Fresh Spring Rolls were super delicious!
Please note that the location and interior are not inviting. The dining room didn’t feel clean to me.
This place is not that dirty like the reviews say and this soup is delicious! So good and the portions were generous. I'll come back anytime I'm in Richmond.
