The eggplant parmigiana is the absolute best I have ever tasted. Love this food!
The best pizza in town - I go once a week at least - I drive 25 miles to buy my elderly Mom the Pasta Karl - not on the menu - you have to ask for this mushroom and pasta dish. She looks forward to it every week - my fave restaurant in town. 5 stars!
Awesome pizza, great ingredients, well cooked but it takes really long to get it, both times we ordered from 8 1/2 we had to wait an hour....
like everything Ed does ... this place rocks ... eggplant parm, carbanora, heros ... the best .... a hidden treasure in the Fan ...Bob Windsor
Margherita Pizza. Off menu and incredibly good with great crust
So glad we came!!!! I was surprised by it being a take out place but the two tables inside we're big enough for me and my daughter to eat our pizza and cannoli. Wow! So happy we tried it out.
Best take out EVER. End of story.
Italian...made right.. I see why they only have two tables and call this a carry-out place, they keep it so cold inside you'll feel like you're in a meat locker. However, the pizza's the best I've had in Richmond and the cannoli is heavenly. By the way, I did eat in and I'll be back.

Is a good place to go to if ur not worried about $ I got the mozzerella n pruschutto it was delicious n fresh downside? Small and the amt of pruschutto they gave me wasn't worth the $1.50 extra so if u get this sub keep it veggie n just buy ur own meat to put on there I would go back to eat there again... Just nit when I'm starving or broke .
Good Italian takeout.. Only downside is they ways seem to be out of something good, so call ahead and ask what's 86'd.
Go buy something and eat it.. This is great Italian food. I am going to be honest..I worked there a few years ago. You know how when you work in food service you can get tired of the food where you work? Well this never happened to me and I worked there for about 3 years. After working/eating here it has made me much harsher on the quality of other food in Richmond. Just about everything here is made from scratch (with top notch ingredients) and its always fresh. Can't beat it!
Pizza was just ok. Crispy but very very greasy. Tasted like a typical tavern pizza. Destroyed the roof of my mouth.
Tasty thin pizza! We bought the pepperoni and a calzone. Our pizza was QUITE greasy, it was dripping. After dabbing it off the pizza was very good! Our calzone was cooked to perfection and came with a generous portion of homemade (?) dipping sauce, we had plenty left over to dip our pizza crust. The calzone ends that didn't have filling were yummy all by itself. Personal preference is there was way to much ricotta in the calzone. A little pricy, but a great picnic splurge. (there is a nice little park across the street that you can sit at to enjoy your pizza on a nice day) Customer service could use a little uplifting. We were able to find parking on a side street, since they have no parking lot or anywhere to wait for your food. It was a nice day so we took a walk during the 30 minute wait.
This place has the best pizza in the city! The Eggplant Parm is also one of the best I’ve ever had. Everyone here works hard and makes amazing food!
Authentic Italian-style food right in The Fan. You'll smell the fresh herbs and spices as soon as you walk in. And the food does not disappoint. The tomato bisque was exactly how the style should be -- hearty, flavorful and thick. Not watery like you get elsewhere. Cooked in front of me in a saucepan, made to order. Underrated spot I'd highly recommend.
A staple of the Richmond pizza scene, the best personal pizzas in the city come from this cozy counter serve hole in the wall. Garlicky salty cheese goodness!
The pasta with Eggplant sauce is simply amazing, you get a lot of pasta with one order. The sauce is authentic with excellent flavor and the pasta is perfectly cooked. I ordered it to go and while there was a long wait because it was a Saturday night, the wait was worth it.
This place has great pizza. Simple menu, but they really deliver on quality. I usually stick to the classic pepperoni, but spiced it up this time with some sausage.
First time eating here and i will definitely be back! Ordered a pepperoni and mushroom pizza that was so good had to order the breakfast pizza as well. (breakfast pizza pictured below) they are a take out spot but do have 2 tables inside to eat if you so choose.
Important to know that you can only pick up food here. There's not much, if any, seating. Doesn't matter – the food is consistently. Garlicky and delicious! Run, don't walk, to 8 1/2.
While I can see someone saying that an avg price of $16 for a personal pizza seems high, the quality of the bake and the actual size of the pizza feels well worth it here. You won't walk away hungry from one of these. Got the breakfast and pepperoni - both excellent, and really enjoyed the large cuts of pepperoni.
