We tried Hobnob on a Tuesday evening and it was packed. We had a reservation and chose to sit on the lovely patio. The whole place has a distinctly neighborhood feel, like where once you’ve been a couple of times you’ll be remembered by name and run into people you know. The place has a simple, clean and comfortable decor. A decent wine and cocktail list indicated we were in time for happy hour. My hubby got a dragonfruit mojito ($7) and I a glass of Tempranillo. ($6) We shared fried green tomatoes ($8) for a starter. Four large and perfectly crispy slices arrived accompanied by delicious buttermilk-barbecue sauce. They were fantastic. I had the shrimp and grits ($15) for dinner. A large bowl arrived filled with creamy, stone ground grits topped with perfectly-cooked plump shrimp with a silky, smoky bacon and Gouda sauce. Man, it was good. Of note, the ratio of shrimp to grits was spot-on. Hubby had a chicken pesto pasta dish that tasted fresh and vibrant. Often these types of dishes can be bland. No so here. Portions were hearty without being overwhelming. Service was friendly and informal and fit perfectly with the vibe. This feels like the kind of place we will frequent when we want a good, no-fuss dinner out, but also where we might gather with friends or take out of town guests. Dinner for two, including wine, cocktail, shared appetizer and two entrees was $65 with tax and 20 percent gratuity. We are so glad to have discovered Hobnob!

Three of my girlfriends and I dined here for Valentine's Day. They had a prix-fixe menu for the occasion. My only complaint was that it was hard to choose from all the delicious sounding options on the menu! We all ended up getting the filet oscar for an entree (YUM) - very generous portion and the steak, mashed potatoes, and asparagus were all great. We also tried the lobster bisque and crab cake appetizers. Both were very good - and again very generous portions! Couldn't even finish my soup. For dessert we ordered the strawberry short cake and cheesecake. The short cake was deconstructed and absolutely adorable. And they gave all the girls roses as we exited which was a cute Valentine's Day touch. The service was excellent. Our waitress was very attentive and sweet. Hobnob is a small, cozy place with 12 or so tables, a patio, and bar seating. There is a gravel lot for easy parking. Will definitely be back!

One of the best neighborhood restaurants with Gourmet food. Best desserts! I don’t normally like sweets, but I couldn’t have enough of their Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie and Carrot Cake. My husband ordered the Fried Chicken Cobb Salad and he said it was very good. I had the Short Rib Po ‘Boy. It was delicious. We were disappointed with the roast Brussels sprouts, it wasn’t cooked well.

Went for dinner and we sat outside. It was cold out but we were very comfortable with the gas heaters working well. Ordered the mushroom roast and it was great. We ordered the meatloaf dinner and the New York strip. The strip was ordered med well and was a little chewy. The waiter came to the rescue and replaced the steak and it was perfect. No complaints on the meatloaf dinner. Home cooking!

Very good lighting and inviting entrance. It is a very comfortable homey feel inside. It is a pretty small bar and dining area but does include an outside dining area as well. Excellent food. Top tier. I had an incredible “dressed up” meatloaf sandwich. I also sampled the chicken sandwich and smash burger. They were both amazing. The chicken sandwich may the best I’ve ever had. The Brussel sprout appetizer was mid in my opinion. However, I’m not a huge fan of brussels. The alcoholic beverages were very good and presentation was as well. They are pricey, but aren’t they everywhere? The service started out strong… good explanation of dishes and which dishes are seasonal and going away soon. Unfortunately, the service dropped off hard after that. Two pre-meal drinks were served roughly 20 minutes later after asking for them 3 times! Then one of drinks was the wrong drink. They did comp the wrong beverage and let us keep it. Waited too long for water checks and for the bill. Even with the service subpar, the food is so good (5 star all the way), that I will return. Along with easy parking and good atmosphere.

Absolutely incredible!! We just had carry out tonight. My husband was a sous chef at Ruth’s Chris when I met him 15 years ago. He agrees with me that the smash burger is top quality, with the perfect amount of condiments, mushrooms…and extra beef! Also, their homemade carrot cake is the BEST we have ever had in our lives! See pics; that’s one slice of cake…HUGE! Highly recommend this restaurant!!

This place may have the best chicken sandwich in Richmond. The fries were thin cut, which gave them the perfect balance, crisp on the outside and perfection inside. The rest of the menu sounded amazing too. Looking forward to those brussel sprouts someday.

Always great food and fantastic service. We have some food allergies, and the staff is positive and knowledgeable about their ingredients. In the Picture you'll see a crabcake sandwich, fried green tomatoes with shrimp, and an Aperol Spritz!

Had brunch here with some girl friends- Bloody Mary was one of the best I’ve had in a long time, and had the fried green tomato Benedict that was also absolutely delicious. Our server seemed kind of annoyed most of our visit, but was attentive- and the lemon ricotta fritters were light and airy but lacking in flavor. Overall, a wonderful experience.

Have eaten here twice now and will be back soon. It's a nice and cozy spot for a late lunch during the workweek. The scallops were absolutely nailed. The pimento cheese hushpuppies really surprised me - I thought it was going to be more of a "cheese oozing out" situation, but they manage to keep perfect hushpuppy texture while packing it with cheese flavor at the same time. We're always looking for places with one or two exciting vegetarian dishes, and this place has awesome variety with something for everyone.

Great tasting food. The outdoor patio is an excellent environment on a nice weather day. The service was good and the overall atmosphere was welcoming. I will definitely visit again.

Dinner food was fast to arrive and all delicious! Comfortable and nice lighting. Service was perfect as well. Only complaint--please put some shades or similar on the windows--the bright as the sun vape store across street ruins the atmosphere!
