The ice cream was great and we enjoyed it a lot. The staff was especially friendly and personable. We will definitely be stopping by Bev's again next time we're walking around Cary St.

So good, I needed to go twice!. Being in town for only two weeks of Army training usually means that I'm out to hit the best restaurants I can find for one time only. But Bev's had the distinction of being the only place I went to twice while being in Richmond. What's not to like? The cool, reclaimed building that it was in? The homemade ice cream and treats? The friendly service from two different but very attractive females? Yes, yes and yes. Each time there was only one girl behind the counter but I was quite surprised at how quick the line would move. This was a good thing because those waiting for a dessert as good as this don't like to wait for a while. Coconut-Peanut Butter ice cream was the bomb with two flavors that I loved separately, but now love together. I now dip my butterfingers in a jar of coconut oil at home just to reminisce about this unique flavor combo. Then the next night i had raspberry chocolate chip which I knew would be ridiculously good...and I was right. I'm so smart.
So there you have it, all thumbs up from me and my buddies that went with me (they played a large part in demanding to go here twice as well). I can't wait to go back.
Great ice cream, nutella gelato is delish. Love the unique flavors.

Delicious homemade Icecream. Daily flavors. Ginger, girl scout cookie, dirty chocolate, fresh blueberry, you get the idea..Well worth the calories & price.
Wonderful. Their ice cream is amazing. Oh, and I have no idea why a person would go to that chain at the end of the block. That stuff can be bought at the grocery store and personally I really don't think it's very good anyway.

I love the story behind the shop, but when you enjoy a scoop of my favorite, Espresso Oreo, you cannot help but taste all of the fresh love and made from scratch that it came from.
I am soooo sad that the other two shop's did not make it, as I was THRILLED that I could get a fix no matter what side of town I was one. But whenever I am in Carytown...I will always make time for Bev's, whether it's dessert time or not.
Bev's - it's not just for dessert anymore...it should have it's own food group and open season for eating time ; ] It does for me and no....I'm not 600lbs ; ]
Bevs is the Best. Best tasting ice cream in Carytown. Hands down.
Ben & Jerry's is good, but Bev's is local, less expensive and has fun chairs to sit in.
Go here before or after watching a movie at Byrd Theatre.

No really, I'm not kidding. Don't waste your time here when you could be eating some of the best ice cream there is.
I'm a self-proclaimed ice cream fanatic. Growing up, this stuff was always in our house. As an adult, I learned to be a bit more picky. Some ice cream just isn't good. Other ice cream is so decadent you'll think you've died and gone to heaven. While Bev's isn't quite that good, it's pretty darn close.
I'm a sucker for homemade ice cream. it tastes much better than the overly processed stuff in the stores. Bev's holds true here. It's great quality stuff. They rotate their flavor selections so you might not always be able to get your favorite, but that also gives you an excuse to try something new.
The only reason why I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because I found a new dairy farm in Ohio that I love even more than Bev's. Now that I have had their ice cream, nothing else compares. Bev's still rocks, though! Go get some!

I got very lucky and walked in here after work when there were no lines, I just walked right up to the counter. Had a nice chat with the girl behind the counter who shared the history with me. I learned about Bev, who was in business for like 20 + years who sold the company years ago to a college student and how this young lady now works there too. I looked around and saw all the newspaper articles, and accolades on the wall of fame. There was a sign on the wall that said " ice cream solves everything, and I cant disagree, nothing I love more than ice cream all year round. There were so many delicious treats on the counter, cookies, brownies, cakes, and I noticed they sell ice cream cakes and cones too. I love a good waffle cone, but today was about the tea and brownies. Next time ice cream for sure! I eagerly grabbed that brownie and chose my favorite tea ... Earl Grey" Creme Tea. If you are a tea drinker, then you know this tea smells like heaven. Even the girl behind the counter couldn't deny, and she said, omg this smells so good, I'm going to have to have one tonight too. I was so glad I stopped by here and sampled a bit of Richmond history!
Awesomely nice ice cream, you could go crazy with toppings and flavors but I’m a sucker for butter pecan. Enjoy!
Bev's has the best ice cream in the area and is a great spot to stop when walking around Carytown. This is one of the places I miss most since moving out of Richmond and the place I always go back to when I visit. My friends and I got to meet Bev and she was so sweet. All the ice cream is amazing, but my absolute favorite is the espresso Oreo!

I took a roadtrip with my mother, a self-proclaimed ice cream aficionado, from Maryland to Florida. We searched out the highest rated homemade ice cream shops in each state we passed through (MD, VA, NC, SC, GA and FL). Bev’s was clearly the highest rated in Virginia. If we left Maryland at 6am, we would arrive at Bev’s in Richmond at 9am. One problem…Bev’s opens at 1pm.
But fear not…Erin was kind enough to make sure her staff was on site at 9am because as she said, “Ice Cream is for anytime!”.
The only thing that pleasantly surprised my mother and me more than the fantastic customer service was the delicious taste. I ordered the cookies ’n cream and my mother ordered the Mocha Almond. Both were phenomenal!! A true homemade taste. It’s been three days and my mother is still talking about Bev’s.
Can’t forget about the staff…they had smiles on their faces (even at 9am on a Saturday!!), offered us the ability to sample different flavors and made our visit fun.
Can’t wait until the next time I’m in Richmond. Bev’s is a must stop!
Bev's is very literally the best ice cream, gelato, and sorbet I've ever had. The portions were perfect for the price, the staff was incredibly nice, the interior was really cute and lively, this will 100% become one of my regular spots!
The best flavors are the Espresso Oreo ice cream, pistachio gelato, and orange raspberry sorbet!
I haven't tried all the ice cream places in Richmond, but this is one of my go-to favorites. I love their oreo espresso ice cream and homemade whip cream. Portion sizes are large and the flavors are perfect. You can't go wrong here!
Homemade ice cream in Carytown! Perfect spot in Carytown for ice cream. Ice cream tastes so much better than your typical ice cream spot like Baskin-Robbins. Cookies are phenomenal as well. Cookies taste fresh and chewy on the inside but has a nice crisp outside layer.
This is hands down the best ice cream in Richmond. We have gone around trying the newer places and they always have some “cool” flavors but the quality isn’t there like it is at bevs. Their sundaes are on another level. The Espresso Oreo flavor is a delicious spin on classic cookies and cream.
The new owner has done such a wonderful job keeping the classic delicious flavors that the Richmond community has grown to love. She’s done a fantastic job updating the decor and keeping the space beautiful. I would recommend the espresso oreo with their homemade hot fudge, it is to DIE for. 🍦❤️
This was such a cute and perfect icecream parlor. Bright and welcoming. The service was Great! Kind and accommodating. Arrived there from out of town, excited to try one of the vegan icecream flavors. There seemed to only be the sherbert/ sorbets but the awesome young lady hooked me up with a delicious option just when I thought I had to leave empty handed. Thank you! We are a fan of Bevs!❤🍦🍨
