We met as a small group at Bitterswert and had an amazing experience. Right away I loved the menu such fun choices for the holidays!! The drinks were good and desserts out of this world. We all tried some of each others and all were amazing. Can't wait to come back here, just make sure to get here early in the evening if u come on the weekend
Desserts and coctails were lit.
Had the seasonal Firelog dessert and carrot cake cupcake. The fire log was a healthy portion enough for 2! Cupcake was moist and tastey the buttercream = excellent. To drink had chia expresso martini and the dude
Wow, wow, wow!!!!! What a great place to end an evening! Drinks are off the hook! I tried the 5 shots, each was unique and tasty. We tried so many desserts I'm sure I'll get a cavity! Each dessert was thoughtfully created and had such unique flavors. From a simple rice crispy treat to a complex smores, everything was perfect! This place gets super busy late night so be prepared to wait. But it's SOOOOO worth it! You must be 21 to experience this dessert extravaganza late night. Kids are welcome earlier in the day so check ahead before bringing the littles.
It was a warm Friday evening. After a delicious dinner, we were in the mood for both dessert and a drink, in came Bittersweet.
A unicorn of a restaurant/bar, a dessert bar. They do not take reservations and are always slammed, so be prepared to wait or get lucky if no one is in town.
They have all types of cocktails and desserts. Their key like pie, pecan pie, espresso martinis, are all amazing.
Good spot.
I went with a group of friends so we ordered several things and nothing disappointed. One dessert between two people would fill you up…but you’ve got to get one each to share, just because there are so many options to try!
I visited Bittersweet as part of a walking food tour of Raleigh, and the next time I am in town I will definitely be back.
Bittersweet is a cocktail, dessert and coffee lounge with a unique menu of baked goods and cocktails with a very robust bar (they specialize in gin!) It is a cute little place and the atmosphere is fantastic. We got to chat with the owner's husband who shared that they promote themselves as a cocktail bar first solely due to the fact that most people associate bakeries with early morning hours, and they are not earlybirds here. Bittersweet opens in the afternoon and serves customers throughout the evening and honestly - I love that. It's a wonderful concept.
As part of our food tour, we were given a dark chocolate and sea salt chocolate chip cookie and a cinnamon carrot cupcake with cream cheese frosting. Both were phenomenal and I was tempted to order more. I also had the Painkiller shot which was perfectly mixed and obviously delicious.
Perusing their menu makes me automatically want to visit again. The cocktail offerings are unique and enticing. The dessert options sound amazing. And again the bar - it's stocked with booze and as I said, they specialize in gin. If you love gin, you'll be at home here. Just check out their menu!
The location is right in downtown and is easy to walk to. They don't take reservations and the space itself is relatively small, so plan accordingly. Highly recommend if you are visiting Raleigh!
Bittersweet is my favorite cocktail bar downtown and is definitely in the running for my favorite cocktail bar in Raleigh. They have an extensive list of house craft cocktail creations from boozy old fashioneds to mild spa-waters and everything in between. Their selection of Gin might be the best in the triangle. You can go on Gin safari with Gin and Tonic. Literally a shot of the Gin of your choice a glass of ice, a lime wedge and a bottle of tonic. I have found several new Gins I like this way. Sniff and sip the Gin by itself, then make my own GnT as strong/weak as I like. Bittersweet also has a great selection of visually beautiful and delicious desserts including a rotating selection of house made pies. It’s just a great place to grab a drink and something sweet anytime or after dinner at any of the nearby restaurants.
Easily a Raleigh favorite for desserts and cocktails. I came for the mocha vanilla latte with whip, which was very delicious. I had the beautiful mess. The cake was beautiful and delicious. There’s usually a line outside on weekends.I did dinner first then came, so I didn’t mind waiting. Highly recommend.
Bittersweet is a great cocktail bar! Their drinks are so good and the customer service here is spectacular! I will definitely come back again.
Really appreciate the bartenders and their good attitudes. Beautiful menu and love the seasonal rotation. Will always keep coming back for more!
