The food is decent, but not always consistent. Some of my favorites are the beef patties, collards, sweet potatoes, and jerk chicken! The prices have really gone up. Good Jamaican food is hard to find in Raleigh, but I go to Lee's Kitchen on occasion to support a black-owned business.
Customer service is good. My order was cooked right then so it took a while. I prefer my oxtail with a little more seasoning. The curry goat was not as tender as I like.
If you are looking for authentic delicious Jamaican food, LOOK NO FURTHER‼️ I messed around and got the dinner portion at lunch time and was ashamed at how I ate this food. My boss and I have a list of Jamaican restaurants that we go to because we share a love for the ox tail…. THIS BY FAR IS THE BEST I’VE HAD! Also the Mac and Cheese is not soupy! The rice and peas…. GOOD GRIEF! We are our food standing up outside on the tailgate of my truck! The only thing I would recommend is, if you’re working, don’t go here for lunch, because the ITIS that follows is VICIOUS! The staff was nice, the food was HOT, and the wait was not long! They will pack your plate! You will get what you pay for. The portions are on point! This place would definitely get a “GEE-WHIZZ” from me! For the delicious meal, awesome staff, and the bang for your buck!
The food is good here! I love the curry chicken and oxtails. The mac and cheese is good. The greens are good most times. Sweet potatoes are really good. The plantains are not cooked properly to me ever. Definitely still one of my go to spots in the area though when I feel like I need my Jamaican fix😋
Have to update my review. Came in last week. In years. The food was so good. I decided to come back today. Another hit. Portion was generous. Prices are a bit pricey $19.47. But it was worth it. Staff was friendly greeted me as I entered.
$17.02 for the smallest plate in the world. Scraps of meat. Highly dissatisfied. Going back to Mum’s from now on where they give you a decent amount for much less.
I am from MD, nice to find a genuine Caribbean restaurant with amazing tasting food in NC. Service was great. It is a carryout so atmosphere is what it is. Definitely on my come back too list.
Food was excellent.. customer service was great.. just a small space and kind of crowded due to the space being small
Their food is cooked every morning fresh, and they serve what they have until its gone, explains the hours of the restaurant. It's so delicious the garlic green beans, the ox tail! The goat!!! Cooked and spiced to perfection!
First time here the food was delicious and you get your money's worth two people could eat off of one dinner but I must say the jerk chicken is a little too spicy for my taste I really couldn't enjoy the chicken at all but everything else was good and big pieces of cornbread. I will definitely go back in my future trips to North Carolina.
We ordered the fried chicken and curry shrimp. Both were great and we didn't have to wait long for our order. Unfortunately, the chicken meal was not correct, but they fixed it with no issue.
