Delicious, close-to-authentic Chinese food. Some adjustments have been made to accommodate American palates, but the food retains it's authenticity. Don't get me wrong, you can order that American swill served at other Chinese restaurants here, but you won't. Just open up the menu and order off the inside flat marked "traditional dishes," you won't regret it. Service was polite and the atmosphere is exceptional. The owners have clearly put a lot of time into making the place well decorated.
Neighborhood Chinese restaurant that I really like. Sauces are light without heavy corn starch. They will customize orders for you. Owner, Stephanie, is super sweet. Service is great. They offer take out and delivery.
Calm pretty authentic atmosphere with friendly staff and tasty food! We even were missing a chopstick and the waitress gave us a gift of metal chopsticks to take home! I got the Red Curry with brown rice and loved it! I went during lunch time around 3pm and loved it.
The manager on duty on Sundays, Stephanie, is one of the finest. I come here after church every now and then with my friend John and the food here is unforgettable, and the egg drop soup even more so. I love everything about this place, from the style to the food, to the bathrooms even! It's clean, it smells nice, and the food is delicious! Even the southern sweet tea is on point! I cannot stress how much of an awesome place this is to be and you should definitely support the people that work here, by coming here!
Staff is amazing food is fresh and good quality. This is not your typical American Chinese food. It costs more but it is real meat! I was very impressed with my takeout experience and dine in. I was 40 mins late for my pickup order and the woman was so gracious "you must have been caught up at work we are remaking your food so it is hot and fresh" she went on to explain that they only serve quality food and wanted me to have it fresh. I was blown away and no Charge! Yummy, fresh, healthy Chinese food ! A rare find ! 5 stars !
Yes, do order this food for takeout! I have been going to another place for a few years and decided to try it as a new place after seeing a recommendation for it. From the moment I called, I knew I would like this place. Stephanie was personable and polite. She called me by name on the phone. When I arrived for pickup, she addressed me by name and knew my order right away. While paying, she told me more about the restaurant and ingredients used. I was impressed. However, the food is delicious!! I had the Black Pepper Steak Dinner which is HUGE for the price. I highly recommend and would like to make this my new go to place.
The best Chinese food in Raleigh, without a doubt! The people who own the restaurant and work there are fantastic, too. We do delivery, mainly, and over the years, I've gotten to know Cody and later Stephanie, and have always enjoyed their warmth and kindness. Their delivery people are always wonderful, too. I recommend the Ma Po Tofu for a spicy, savory yummy treat.
What a fantastic Chinese restaurant! My husband and I ordered our food for delivery. Taylor was so sweet. Our food arrived absolutely piping hot! I have not eaten any Chinese food in years, because of all the scandals. This place has restored my hope in ordering Chinese. My husband and I will DEFINITELY be back. I would have shown a picture but it looked and smelled too good!
This restaurant has a reputation of being one of the best Chinese restaurants in the triangle, and they never disappoint. I have been eating here for a few years, now. While I certainly have favorite dishes (I really enjoy their curries), everything I've tried is superb. Truly, there is no wrong move on their menu.
In addition to delicious food, the staff is always very friendly and helpful, and the decor is charming and warm.
The one time an order has been wrong (my vegetable tempura had shrimp in it, and I'm allergic), I received a correct replacement promptly.
I honestly cannot speak highly enough of this restaurant. I'll certainly continue to go here for many more years.

It is so rare to find a really great quality local restaurant. There are so many large chain “cookie cutter” restaurants nowadays that rely on gimmicks rather than great food in a pleasant atmosphere! Peking Garden has been a Raleigh landmark for almost 30 years, but has continued to offer some of the finest Asian cuisine, in a quiet relaxing atmosphere, with a diversified menu, and the finest personal service to be found anywhere. Last night we enjoyed one of the best meals we have ever eaten. Our server was quiet and unobtrusive, but genuinely interested in anticipating our every need. When asked, she supplied information about menu items, offered excellent suggestions, and offered impeccable service. It is such a joy to be able to enjoy a quiet, relaxing dinner, made with the finest ingredients ( no cheap shortcuts found here), with no blaring music or repetitive menu like the ones found in so many Raleigh restaurants. This is a restaurant that will definitely be seeing more of us, and I highly recommend it as a breath of fresh air to anyone who loves good food. Don’t expect “bells and whistle.” Investment at Peking Garden is spent on excellent food , not gimmicks to get your attention or entertain you. Enjoy your great meal!!
