Happy mother's day to the best mother/wife on this planet/universe. We just got back from vacation and Michele wanted sushi so we went to the best place in Raleigh Kai sushi. Alway the best and the steamed dumplings are the best. We always get the Darth Vader and the Dark knight tonight we also ordered the snap dragon, volcano and the black widow. All their rolls are amazing.
Sushi was OK. I don't like all the crab salad In the rolls instead of actual crabsticks. For the price, the quality was not really up to standard. We really miss Tokyo House.
2023-07 gave it another shot. Sushi good, but I still prefer crab sticks to crab salad. We keep coming back for the free edamame. 😆 lol
If you were to ask me where to get the best sushi in Raleigh, I would immediately say Kai with zero hesitation. I discovered this restaurant with my family a couple years ago & no matter how many new places I try, they just don’t compare. With amazing 3 & 5 roll specials, the Crazy K & Shrimp Tempura rolls are always my go to. Their flavor combinations are harmonious with the perfect rice to filling ratio & sauces. The Piano, Angry Tuna, & Dark Knight are also other notable rolls loved by friends who’ve tried Kai per my recommendation.
This is the place that made me realize I actually enjoy raw fish & the place my grandpa ordered from every single day for a year straight until he passed from cancer. The one flaw I would say is that their phone service is always busy & you have to call around 30 times in a row just to get through (sometimes more). I don’t mind, however, because I believe their food is worth it. This is a restaurant that you find yourself randomly craving & thinking about. Here’s to many more rolls🥂
Jason and his staff provide an amazing dining experience. Always very fresh and super delicious. The sake selection is second to none.
My rating is 4, the service is good, the sushi is delicious. But some of the sushi fell apart and the presentation was a little unappealing, and the cola was watered down.
Kai is one of the better options to get sushi in Raleigh. I prefer getting the nigiri here rather than the rolls. (I recommend the eel). A number of the rolls have cream cheese, which I tend to avoid, but the fish taste fresh. Overall, I always get a good meal here but it is pricey and sometimes there’s a long wait to get a table.
Sushi was very good, fresh and flavorful. Loved all the rolls I tried. Service was great. Also very reasonably priced.
This is my favorite sushi spot in the triangle. I’ve tried several places, many recommended, but this one is the one I keep wanting to come back to. Their prices are very reasonable and the sushi is perfect. In the past five years I’d say I’ve been here about 20+ times (dine in and take out) and I have never once had a bad experience. The variety of sushi is nice and the quality is always very high and prepared to perfection. Service has never been a problem either. Indoor and outdoor dining is lovely, with a good vibe to the place for something casual or a nice night out. I’m a repeat customer and will continue to be!
2 amazing vegetarian rolls.
Start with that to get it seen in the review preview. :) had a very enjoyable experience here recently. My boyfriend and friend split the 5 rolls for $36 deal and were stuffed by the end. They were very happy with all of their choices.
The two green rolls I had were delicious. And they aren't just avocado and rice. They actually have veggies in them which was a refreshing change from most other restaurants in the area.
Put waitress was very polite and the atmosphere in the actually restaurant was nice. We got there right at 5 pm so we didn't have to wait to be seated. And the food was very quick.
Two out of three rolls were great. This place is dog friendly. They have a three and a five roll special. I recommend the Screaming Oh and the Mango roll. The seaweed salad was also pretty good. Our waiter was very friendly!
