This Subway shop is Recommended because...
Customer service at Fast Food restaurants can be hit or miss depending on who serves you, and their mood at the moment. But I've never had a serious problem at this sub shop, which I regularly visit. Most recently I was waited on by a very friendly, yet professional young man. I asked him to cut all 4 of my foot long subs in half and wrap each half separately, and he cheerfully complied.
Food is obviously not gourmet, but is tasty, and new limited edition subs are regularly spotlighted. You choose all the ingredients: type of bread, meat, cheese, veggies, sauces. Prices are reasonable, with regular sales. Nutritional information is available. Wheelchair accessible. Bathrooms only for customers. And I've never seen this store dirty.
In the heart of downtown Portland; an easy walking distance from stores, movie & music theaters, clubs, museums, art galleries, businesses, the Civic Center, the public library. Unfortunately, no easy free parking. Delivery available through outside services.
I stopped in today & a young man named Noah waited on me.
There was a woman customer that was being quite difficult.
He handled her quite nicely. He was alone & smiled the whole time.
I don't think I would have had the patience that he showed with her.

Store manager served us our subs and drinks with a smile and jokes even though we could see she was under pressure to set up and present her counter.(we arrived essentially the second this location opened..oops) really appreciated her treatment of us bc she never let us feel like we put her out of her way even tho she was marching around taking care of business when we walked in. When we left we were laughing. Cool subway.
I came in on a Saturday and it was BUSY! One person was scheduled to work on a busy day, Audrey. She kept her cool, she was a very nice, helped out everybody and she wasnt slow or backed up on anything. Even though she was mentally fatigue, she perform great.
