Easily one of the best meals I’ve had in awhile. Good selection of drinks and the menu was very exploratory. For sure a great experience! The atmosphere and decor is vibey. Great for a casual date! Give it a try.
Came here for the first time mid-pandemic for dinner and walked out very impressed. Little Giant exemplifies everything I love about the Portland food scene. Start with incredibly fresh local ingredients, develop creative preparations, and pair them with delicious cocktails and local beers. Service was highly professional and friendly. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal, especially if you want to get away from the downtown.
Beautiful cocktails and high quality food in an adorably quaint atmosphere (I sat on the back patio). A really special little place tucked away from the main touristy area of Portland. Worth a walk / short Uber if visiting without a car.
The food was excellent and the service was great too. They have a really nice set up for outdoor dining with plenty of space and heaters. We were perfectly comfortable on a 40 something night. The black rice is exquisite and the mushrooms toast. The fried chicken and the fried squid were great too!

The outdoor dining experience in winter was great. They have heaters on the ceiling radiating on you so it wasn't even that cold.
APPS
The seaweed dusted fries were simple but perfect and the aioli with it was addictive. 5/5
The pistachio romanesco had a sauce with a lot of different flavors going on, in a good way. The romanesco broccoli was lightly charred only, which is fine but the pieces were so large that they were a little hard to cut through. 4/5
ENTREES
The ribeye was a great piece of meat elevated by a delicious olive sauce on top. The crispy potatoes underneath added some nice texture. There were burnt ends with it, but not creamy like you'd get at a bbq place. Just kind of fatty. I could have done without that element. 4/5
Peekytoe crab with black rice.. this was an inventive dish but not successful. Between the glutinous black rice and the soft crab, it was texturally one note. The flavors were good, but after a few bites I felt sick. The rice absorbed way too much coconut milk, leaving it overly rich and fatty. 2/5
DESSERTS
The French Cheesecake was very tasty. I did notice some lumps in it, which I guess is a technical imperfection, but I really didn't mind. It had a scoop of ice cream on it which was saltier than it was sweet. I think it complemented the flavor nicely, but it was just plopped on top so I couldn't even see the cheesecake underneath. 4/5
Super thick french toast. Again, it had the salty ice cream plopped on top. I was pretty full at this point so I only took a bite. Therefore I can't judge this one properly.
Enjoyed a lovely brunch at Little Giant this Saturday with friends, finally! We sat in the heated outdoor area and were very comfortable, it was nice to look up and see the sky. I had the Shakshuka and a Bloody Mary and both were excellent! Making reservations again for this Saturday-with two different friends who have never been!
I’m a big fan of little giant. The ambiance is very sexy, but not inaccessible. The food is really delicious without being too precious. The drinks never miss the mark, and the service is lovely.
Been here twice for brunch on Sundays. Every dish is delicious and felt fairly priced for using local ingredients. The space is well lit and inviting. The service is accommodating too. Will bring people when they visit!
