This place is amazing!
Went late on a Friday night, staff was super friendly and welcoming even though dinner service was almost over.
Everything came out fresh, hot, flavorful and delicious. I recommend any of their naan and the butter chicken was to die for.
Overall, best Indian food I have found in this part of Maine. I'll definitely be back!!
Super delicious vegetarian dishes. I am giving them 5 stars because staff was super nice, friendly, & helpful. And food was terrific. But, my daughter is severely lactose intolerant. She ordered lamb curry. It was also very good. But, we speculate it was cooked with lots of butter. We should have inquired. Our fault. I recommend this restaurant with new owners since July 2021!
Really good food. The Bread is out of this world good. The chicken curry was good. I ordered a level 6. Not spicy at all. The beers were not cold. If you want a good meal this place is good.
Food was amazing, you can tell it is authentic and high quality. Very friendly service and the wait was very short. Highly recommend.
If you are ever in Portland Maine and enjoy Indian food or something different, you need to try out this restaurant. I have been cooking and eating Indian food since my early teens and the food at Hi Bombay is priceless!
This little hole in the wall is a gem! One doesn’t go there for the ambience but only for the food and staff! The staff are amazing. My waiter Syd, was amazing!
He even gave me tips on how to make a better Indian sauce during our conversation. This place is the best, and cannot wait to go back when I visit Maine again. 5+ stars from me
Authentic Indian food with great service! I must admit that the ambience and décor of the place are a bit lacking, especially for Portland but it’s not meant to be snobby and it doesn’t need to. The food speaks for itself. Traditional dishes executed well. It taste authentic and fresh and they have quite a lot of Indian cuisine staples. The service is quick and efficient. I highly recommend this restaurant!
We are up visiting from Atlanta and chose to eat here because it’s close to our hotel and had great reviews. This was some of, if not, the best Indian food we’ve ever had. The spices were great, the coconut stuffed naan was subtly sweet, and the meat was deliciously tender. The best part of all was the owner. He was so nice and personable and even brought our baby a mango yogurt treat to try.
The food here was flavorful. I had the vegetable biryani. The quality was good and the amount of food was just right. Our server asked us how much spice we wanted based on 1-10. The atmosphere was basic but the service was friendly.
