I had the Ping Ngob (grilled fish curry) upon recommendation from the server. It had so much flavor and spice! The presentation was lovely as well. Our server took care of the entire dining room efficiently, acting as host as well. His wine service was on point and he was very knowledgeable about the menu. Fantastic dining experience!
Food was amazing, waitstaff was very friendly. I recommend the shrimp crepe and the shumai - both were excellent. Atmosphere was on point, modern, spacious. I'm excited to try more on their menu.

I found Cheevitdee towards the end of our Portland trip, when we were all lobster rolled out. They seemed to have some pretty unique menu items, at least unlike the typical Thai fare in NYC restaurants. It was really the brunch menu that intrigued me but we didn't have time to come here for brunch, so we decided to check out the dinner menu. They only have delivery and takeout, which was fine by us since we weren't comfortable with indoor dining anyway. So we placed an order for pickup via GrubHub.
I had the Thai Omelette (Thai-style omelette with ground pork, sriracha, served over rice). In my experiences, Thai-style omelettes are oily and on the drier side from being fried. This one was no different. It was also bland and I wish there was some more pork in there. I liked the rice they used though, which was some type of purple/brown rice. It was a nice change from the usual white Jasmine rice. This was a huge portion and I had leftovers for the next day. To drink, I had the Butterfly Pea Iced Tea, which was my first time trying this tea. It's hard to explain the flavor - it's almost like a sweet tea, but not as sweet. I can see this being very refreshing if you order an extremely spicy dish
My fiance had the Duck Curry (red curry soup with duck, bell pepper, eggplant, and tomato) and I immediately wish I ordered this instead. The broth was nice and flavorful (also paired with that purple rice), and the duck was nice and tender
There are so many other menu items I wanted to try. Hopefully I'll get the chance the next time I'm in Portland!
Delicious breakfast with great service! We had a delightful experience this morning. Such a nice change of pace for breakfast/brunch. We had no wait and they had highchairs for one of our kids. They were very accommodating and brought plastic cups for the kids. The food was delicious. We got #1 & #4. The custard for the Thai donuts was so yummy & the shumai was tasty! Great coffee too.
When one thinks of food in Maine, first thought should be lobster rolls. Second should be Cheevitdee. This unassuming, hidden gem was fantastic. Was going back to hotel after a morning run and saw a sign for steamed pork buns. First thought was, “I’m not gonna go to a Thai restaurant in Portland, Maine.” Decided to try it out anyways, omg was I surprised. The food was great. The congee hit the spot, very nostalgic. The pork skewers were bomb. But the best piece of food was the steamed pork bun that brought us to this restaurant in the first place. The flavor was perfect. The bun was soft and fluffy. Everything about it was perfect. The environment and decor was great as well. Well done cheevitdee, well done. Highly recommend.

The appetizer lemon grass grilled chicken skewers are ok to eat but not what we expected. Sprinkled few dried lemon grass on a chicken patty. This is the reason I rated it 4.
Main course was the game changer. We ordered tom yum fried rice and curry stir fry and both of them were the best Thai I had till date. I would eat them everyday if I could.
Dessert was Mango sticky rice which is another simple yet amazing tasty dish.
Keep in mind a 4 star spice is way too much spicy than expected, I would recommend to go with 3 if you want to try spicy.
I would give it less than 4, but service was very warm and the place is shiny clean. Food is not greasy and seem healthy. Although all the taste and flavors weren’t for me, I didn’t enjoy my food at all. And a bit pricy. I would not recommend it for people who are not really into Thai food. Too weird tasting.
Amazing! Most authentic Thai food in Portland (by a wide margin), service was warm and welcoming, and the inside is really cute. Highly recommend the Mussels and the mango sticky rice.
Truly unique and delicious Thai you won't find anywhere else in Portland (or anywhere else for that matter!). Do yourself a favor and try this place out instead of the other overcrowded tourist spots in the Old Port; you won't be disappointed.
