I'd give 10 stars if i could. Knowledgeable resource on all aspects of roasting and brewing, and clearly lovers of the art and process. A great array of green beans in small and large quantity and also all the good tools and best products on market. Thoughtful and inspired, we are lucky to have a resource like this locally.
Great customer service here! We are completely new to the idea of roasting our own coffee. The store employee was really helpful in educating us and making it sound pretty easy. They have a ton of materials and products to help you get started, but he didn't really push trying to sell us anything extra. We've now roasted 3 batches of our own coffee and it really is pretty easy and delicious. I highly recommend trying it out!
Been getting my beans for roasting there since 2013. Good selection, high quality beans, fair trade and sustainable available. Never had a bad batch. Trevor and company are knowledgeable and very helpful. Excellent source!
I just picked up a couple of pounds to get started again with home roasting after a long break from it. I had never purchased beans here before, but the person who helped me was very knowledgeable and provided great service. He explained some particulars about the beans I was buying for when I roast them. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because they're significantly more expensive than Sweet Maria's down in California. I needed the beans in a pinch and didn't want to wait for shipping.
They were out of the Guatemala unfortunately, but that seems to be more of a widespread issue at the moment. It's always been my go-to place for green coffee beans in Portland, always super friendly, no shipping or tax if you live in the area.
Great beans but frequently sold out of items they have listed on web page. Forced to choose beans that may not be just what you wanted. They also need to improve their slow shipping. Processed my order in one day then took another 4 days to put it in the mail. The Postal service fulfilled their one day delivery time after they received it. What should have taken three days from order to delivery, took six days.
Upgraded to 4 stars as they were in the middle of changing locations when I left the review. They have been great since then. I guess inventory issues may be to the smallish size of their business but if you want to support local businesses, they are your best choice.
Amazing source for home roasters to get green beans in any quantity. Staff are friendly, incredibly knowledgeable and willing to share info about beans and roasting tips.
Very pleasant visit to the shop and spent some good time chatting with Dirk and other buyers about roasting. I got some sample beans and they seemed to be nice and fresh (newbie here). I love their Ethiopian beans. Very fruity and nice juicy taste. Will visit again!
