The most fantastic and authentic Jamaican restaurant I have even been to.
This is my new favorite.
The jerk chicken, the ox tail, the beef patty 🤯🥵🥵🥵
EVERYTHING WAS SO FREAKING GOOD!
Loved the atmosphere and the staff and I will be back SOON!
My first time there this afternoon, my friend Stan took me there.
Great food , I was amazed at the huge portions on my order, of course I couldn't eat it all, so yes, didn't have to worry about making dinner! Very friendly Customer service.
Have seen this place on Uber eats. Finally gave it a try. Took 2 bites and apologized to myself for taking so long. Absolutely AMAZING! I got the jerk chicken and island shrimp. Both are a Must try! Great flavor, big portions. Happy to have found you.
To be fair I went there today (Saturday 6th) & there was an outside party to celebrate Jamaican Independence so the back up foe food was out the door--literally!
I saw ONE lady Taking inside orders, doing to go orders, and serving seated customers eating inside! It was crazee and wait both 2 order and get food was long.
In instances like this we all just need to smile and be patient.
I ordered easy-peasy: 2 patties and a Modelo (they were OUT of Red Stripe!🥸) & went outside to enjoy the Reggae music.
Then came back and ordered to go and got another beverage, went outside and waited.
Broought mine home: Food was hot, tasty & enough maybe for 3 days!
We drove down from Lewis County, WA to try out their food for the first time and it was worth every mile of the drive. Their Jerk Chicken, Stew Pork and Beef Patty (the flaky and buttery crust was perfect)
were absolutely amazing. I can't recommend them enough!!!
Jerk chicken was delicious and moist, with a perfect little char on the outside… the sides were perfectly cooked and tasted nice and fresh. I haven’t cleaned a plate this fast in a while. Met the new owners, very nice people. They just got their liquor license, so there was no official drink menu yet… but they did have a tropical rum punch mixed up that was really really refreshing and dangerously easy to drink. I got to try a little bit of the oxtail too and it was delicious as well. Definitely coming back soon.
Definitely the best option for Jamaican food in Portland.
The jerk has a good depth of flavor and their rice and peas are solid Wish they’d give a lil more jerk sauce ;)
Curry goat and oxtails are also solid versions of these dishes
I often stop by to grab a couple beef patties and a ting of if I’m in that neighborhood
I had the jerk chicken dinner platter. It’s one of those dinner dishes that you eat and you sit down and immediately have the -itis. The food‘s so good you wanna pass out right after work because you’re so stuffed. The chicken is moist, spicy, and smoky. The jerk sauce when added to the chicken and also drizzled over the red beans and rice was a good finishing touch. The mixed veggies added a nice crunch to the meal followed by the plantains which added sweetness completing the meal. Oh no I give this a 5/5 stars and 10 out of 10 would recommend.
The trifecta that I thought couldn't exist does exist:
- Amazing tasting food.
- EVERYTHING on the menu is actually available for purchase.
- The time they say your food will be ready is in fact the time the food is ready.
Icing on the cake:
Excellent customer service.
If I could package your business up to bring home with me, I'd do it right now. Amazing. 10/10!!!!
Awesome brown stewed chicken. Sides were all delicious and the service was great and friendly. Prices were on point for the food portions and quality. Glad to see legit Jamaican cuisine in Portland. Can't wait to come back and try the national dish, Ackee and salt fish.
