Each dish we ordered was very tasty, hot and fresh, and generously portioned. We ordered a garlic chicken dish, pork mushu, chow fun, fried rice, spring rolls, and a deep fried vegetable and gravy dish that was out of this world. Friendly staff. Great value. We could have easily fed 6 for the 50 dollar tab. Fantastic!
I really enjoyed my experience.
I called for takeout and ordered chicken chop suey and cashew chicken. I found the food to be delicious. The sauces were not overly heavy and did not taste strongly of MSG or anything like that. The rice was well cooked.
The outward appearance of the building is a little bit
offputting but I suppose overtime they might improve it. It is obvious that this restaurant is newly opened. The place that was here before this was not this nice. It was kind a yucky and trashy. This place was very clean and well decorated inside. The staff was authentic and very friendly.
I liked it a lot and I will go back.
Other than the fact that some of the prices are a little above normal and you have to eat in in-order to get the free side of white rice or soup that every other Chinese takeout gives you, it's still pretty good. If there was another one just as close to me, I'd probably try that one first though. Either way, you won't be unsatisfied if you eat in or out here.
Great food and friendly staff, this is a good choice. Huge portions, you won't leave hungry. They have a good lunch special for $7.50. We love the sweet & sour chicken and the Mu Shu Pork
This is excellent chinese food. Made by mom of the family, so no hired help. Home made food. The only thing not home made was the spring rolls. Typical pre-made in a factory, but passable. No dining in yet, so eaten in the car. Very good food.
service: lady was friendly but english not so fluent. Staff was happy to accommodate our arrival time.
food: exceeded expectations for other chinese food in the portland area. as a frequent chinese eater, i immediately noticed that the food is not overly salty, which was a pleasant surprise!
portion: huge amount of food for the price. i ordered 2 fried rice and a general tso chicken, expecting dinner. now i have leftovers for at least lunch tomorrow and maybe dinner. rice was flavorful and literally bulging out of the container.
i would return for sure.
Excellent Chinese food - I had the Combo Plate #6 with Almond Chicken Lol Mein, Sweet & Sour Chicken, Pork Fried Rice & Cream Cheese Puffs. All delicious and highly recommended.
Sign out front calls this place Ah Fong Kitchen, but comes up on yelp as Imperial House Chinese restaurant. Terrible ambiance, but excellent authentic dishes. Was surprised by the menu and quality of dishes. I am chinese and have very high standards when rating a chinese restaurant. Only ate here once so far, but plan to make it a standard if their food continues to impress.
The best house special fried rice in the whole Portland in my opinion. Try it out and let me know what you think about it and a place you would recommend me to go try out.
If I could I'd give it four and a half Stars. Got take out on Christmas because it was one of the few places open. Pleasantly surprised the flavors are amazing..
